The night air is chilly. Every gust of winds sends a shiver down my spine and I pull my knees in tighter every time.

I clutch the mug with camomile tea tighter in my grasp. Along with the black hoodie I had a blanket draped over shoulders. The night air was cold and wet, it hadn't rained but the grass and trees sparkled with doe drops.

It was currently 01:30 in the morning. Natalie was still asleep, she hadn't gotten home until late. She wouldn't tell me where she was or with who she was. I don't really care seeing as it's her life.

My eyes focus on the dark forest behind the house. It looked like the abyss, the darkness seemingly never ending.

Lifting the cup I take a sip of the camomile tea as my hands shake. The shaking hasn't stopped since that day in the store.

Sighing I close my eyes

That afternoon

"So..." I turn to look at Bella as we walk into the English classroom, ignoring the teacher as he tries to stop me to stand in front of the class.

I scoff as she tries to call me back. There's no way in hell I'm introducing myself to watch bunch of nosey teenagers who have nothing better to do with their time.

"... where are you from?" Bella asks, shifting awkwardly as we make our way to the back of the class. I sit down in the corner at the empty bench.

"New Orleans, I grew up there" I say, my southern drawl the attention of a few people around me. "To be honest I'd rather stay there- I swear the people are more cheerful and the city is more colourful" I insist with a smirk when I see a blonde girl roll her eyes and snort.

Bella smiles awkwardly at me before coughing into her fist. "So why did your parents move to Forks?" She asks crossing her arms over chest, tilting her head to the side.

I feel my face freeze at the mention. I straighten my posture before turning forward to see the teacher start his lesson on English literature- specifically A street car named Desire.

He starts to discuss Stella and her character traits.

"They didn't" I answer simply and take out my book to start taking notes.

Back

Lifting the mug again I find that my tea has turned cold. I sigh and stand up, grabbing my blanket before heading back inside. Locking the door I quickly put the mug back in the sink before heading back upstairs.
