Florence's POV

"It's not that bad"

Natalie was currently standing by the stove making eggs. She's forcing me to eat considering I don't really feal like eating these days. All of the adults in my life are suddenly acting like responsible parents.

"No big deal!" She almost shrieks. Her usual dramatic overreactions are in full affect. Rolling my eyes I just lift the cup with camomile tea. "You're telling me that you broke a girl's nose and that you're a lot warmer than humanly possibly- for Christ sake you're warmer than Sam and the wolves" her ranting continues.

Setting a steaming plate of scrambled eggs in front of me. Groaning I stab at the eggs, knowing I have to eat or else I'll be killed. "The wolves are hot to the touch-"

"So are you" Natalie interupts. Motioning towards my outfit she continues. "For heavens sake, it's almost 30° F... you're wearing shorts!"

Wincing I drop the fork on the plate. Picking up my tea cup I continue to drink the light drink. "It's not that serious, I'm running a little bit warmer than normal but I'm perfectly healthy" I mutter and stand up. Walking around her I set the cup in the sink before grabbing the ice water bottle from the fridge. "Well... I'm heading to school, Alice should be here any moment" I say and walk out of the kitchen.

When I open the front door I see a yellow flat sports car. Alice leaning against it. Sighing I roll my eyes before jumping down the steps.

I wince when I feel cold hands on my shoulders. Looking down at Alice I see her gold eyes wide. "Damn, you really do feel like fire- I thought Jasper was overreacting" Alice's bell-like voice rings through the cold air.

"Jasper told me you were picking me up- what's wrong?" I ask walking around the yellow car. Opening the car I jump back as the car door opens up vertically. "Really? Is this car practical for Forks?" I ask climbing into the car, groaning at how close the car was to the ground.

"He hasn't gone hunting in weeks, Emmett basically forced Jasper out of the house" Alice explains, not looking away from me as she pulls away from my house.

It still irks me how she can drive while not looking at the road.

"As vampires we don't feel the cold but at least we dress like it" Alice says slowly. Her hands move fast and automatically around in the car, turning on the air-conditioner. Turning I stare at her with a raised eyebrow.

"Yer point"

"I know whatever is happening to you is causing you discomfort but people are going to stare-"

"I don't really care Alice" I mutter. Dragging my hand through my hair. I feel how warm my red hair is. The faint scent of ginger tea sticks to my fingertips. "Everyone at that school either stare at me in pity or like I'm on the edge of explodin' " I explain.

"I know, just try to understand." I stare into her golden eyes. Her pale face was patient. "We just have to lay low- keep attention away from us" she explains as the yellow car stops in the parking lot.

Snorting I climb out and close the door. "Lay low, Alice yer drivin' a yellow sports car that probably costs more than half of the town's worth" I say rounding the car to join Alice's side.

Every head in the parking lot turns towards us. If it's the yellow car or my extremely inappropriate clothing. In this weather they're probably wondering how I don't have hypothermia.

"All the guys are staring at your legs" Alice whispers as we walk past a group of guys. Jessica and Lauren were amongst them and they were being ignored. Their glaring eyes were amusing.
