"Listen I think Alice is losing it" I mutter as I stare down at the book. The words flowing through my mind as I read it. "She gave me this book yesterday- told me it reminded her of us" I turn my head to stare down at him.

I was currently sitting on the bonnet of the Cullens new Mercedes G-Wagon. His brown leather jacket draped over my legs. I smirked knowing my skirt was on the shorter side.

He laughs and leans his arm on my knees. "No, read it to me... maybe I could tell ye why" he suggests giving me a devilish grin. Leaning forward he rests his chin on my legs.

"Mhm" I mumble before looking down at the page.

"Aphrodite was the goddess of beauty and sexual love. She emerged from the sea and was more beautiful than any other creature. Gods, mortals, or anyone else who saw her were enchanted by her beauty."

According to the myth of Aphrodite and Ares, the god of war fell madly in love when he met the goddess of beauty. Unlike what he did with his other lovers, he decided to win her over. He bought her gifts and complimented her constantly to gain her love. The two spent a lot of time together until Aphrodite fully reciprocated.

Ares being the god of war was never regarded as a worthy lover to Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love.

The first love and war of the world"

Looking back at Jasper I see him trying very hard not to burst out laughing. Taking the book from my grasp, he places the bookmark before tossing it in the back of the G-wagon.

Stepping in front of me he rests his hands on my waist. "Alice is just trying to be funny, nothin to worry about" without even a huff of struggling he lifts me off of the bonnet and onto the ground. "Now, what do we have first... English literature?" He asks before draping my bag over his shoulder and walking inside.
