Florence's POV

Bella tenses up. She obviously didn't want me to know who this 'Jasper' was. She looks in front of her, biting down on her lower lip before the engine roars to life. The truck jostles forward and we start moving again.

"Bella" I hiss out, gripping the old leather seat. "I'm going to ask again and you better fucking answer" I snap at her but she doesn't even look at me.

"Who is Jasper and in what why am a 'mate'?" I ask, leaning forward as the car starts to slow down. My eyes widen as we stop I'm front of a big glass house, a very modern house nestled between trees and boulders.

"Wha-?" I ask but I'm interupted by Bella jumping out. I watch as she rushes towards the front door.

Sliding out and follow her, still looking in amazement at the house. It was huge empty. It looked like a vacation home waiting for the family to come back.

I stop behind Bella as she jams the key in the door. "Why do you have a key?" I ask as she opens the door. I'm half expecting an alarm to go off but it never comes. You'd think rich people would have an alarm for their fancy houses.

"I stole it from Alice" she mutters and closes the glass door behind me and starts to jog up the stairs. "Alice obviously knows I have it" she snorts.

Stopping in the middle of the staircase I look up at the strange piece of art- graduation caps lining the wall. "What-"

"Florence, come on" I look up to see Belka staring at me, urgency in her brown eyes. It makes me move faster. Following her I can see the forest surrounding us through the glass walls. Passing by a few door I resist the urge to open the doors- I'm a very curious person by nature.

Bella throws open a door which she enters without thinking. Looking around I'm immediately surrounded by closets of shoes, bags, accessories and... art supplies.

"Bella, why are we in here?" I ask grabbing her arms and pulling her back. Grabbing her shoulders I force her to look at me. "You can't just ignore all of my questions and then continue act like a crazy person" I growl out, tightening my grasp on her shoulders. I ignore her flinch and lean forward. "Explain- now"

"Just- just look at this" she holds out a piece of paper. Coloured pencil drawing, consisting mostly out of red. "Alice drew you once, a way of showing you to Jasper" taking it from her I hold it up, my wide eyes focusing on pencil drawing.

"Is that-"

"Yes" Bella insist and grabs my wrist, leading me out of the closet towards another door. Opening it she flicks the light on. I'm greeted by a big office. Unlike the rest of the house it was more traditional with a lot of dark oak furniture. "Jasper wanted something of you- no one knew how long I would take until you showed up so..."

"Bella..." I mutter and step inside. The room felt warm, welcoming. Even if it had stood vacant for months a lingering scent was still clinging to the walls and old parlor furniture. The warn scent of cinnamon, leather polish and freshly pressed coffee. It was a comforting smell. "These painting..." I step closer to the oil paintings hanging against the one wall. Two or three, oil paintings of a red haired woman with green eyes... me. "Did Alice paint these as well?" I ask, my fingertips skimming against the oil surface.

"No" Bella says standing next to me. "After the first picture Jasper forbade her from drawing you. He started to paint you" she laughs a little as if something was incredible funny. "Vampires are a little possessive"

I whip around sharply, suddenly filled with anger and annoyance. "Possessive, of me?" I ask rhetorically. She nods, clearly noticing my mood shift. "As if I'm some sort of object?" I hiss out.
