2022- TW: mentions of addiction

"I haven't watched this movie yet" Morgan says as Gracie loads up A Star Is Born.

"Are you kidding me?!" Gracie shoots a shocked look towards Morgan, "it's been out for like a month!"

They were about 20 minutes into the movie and Morgan was liking it. Bradley Coopers character seemed to hit close to home, however, as she finds herself relating to the guys habits and ways. After a couple minutes, Lady Gaga's character starts singing as they sit together in a quiet parking lot, and Morgan hears Gracie quietly join in as she's watched this movies tons of times. They were both sat close to each other with Morgan's arm resting on the back of the couch behind Gracie. Weenie was also laying between the two fast asleep.

"Your voice is so beautiful" Morgan tells her out of nowhere. Gracie looks up to see Morgan staring down at her with a small smile. She quickly looks away after Morgan lifts up her hand and kisses the back of it and her cheeks heat up. They continue watching the movie in a comfortable silence.

"What the fuck..." Gracie hears Morgan sniffle next to her as the credits start rolling once the movie has finished, "that... it's... I mean.."

"Devastatingly beautiful, right?" Gracie says for her with a watery smile. The movie never fails to make her cry.

"It's just.. yeah.. it is.. oh my god. Why didn't we just watch Megamind like I suggested instead of one of the saddest movies I've ever watched since I don't usually watch sad movies anyway. I watched Marley And Me when I was like 9 and that was enough for me" Morgan tells Grace, making her chuckle slightly at the girls remark.

"Marley And Me is pretty sad" Gracie says as she looks into Morgan's eyes.

"It's so fucking sad man. He's so cute. But, I mean, this movie really did it for me. Really hit close to home" Morgan tells Gracie with a sad smile.

"What do you mean by that?" Gracie asked curiously before she felt Morgan shuffling uncomfortably next to her, "You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. We've only known each other for 5 months, so.." Gracie trailed off as she tried to understand the look on Morgan's face.

Morgan debated her words. It's true, she had only known the girl for around 5 months. However, she felt a slightly deep connection starting to form between the two, and she honestly felt like she could trust Gracie with her past. Even though it stills pains her to think of to this day.

"I can trust you. I kind of want to talk about it. Get it off my chest and talk to someone who I really have a connection with" Morgan shrugged her shoulders slightly as Gracie nodded and turned on the sofa. She crossed her legs as she faced Morgan with Morgan doing the same. They both accidentally disturbed Weenie, the small dog waking up from his nap with a big yawn before he waddled off the couch and moved towards his bed. The girls laughed together at his antics before the atmosphere became serious again.

"Um, so, the reason why I said it hit close to home is because I've had struggled with alcohol addiction and.. um... drugs" Morgan paused slightly as she caught her breath, "It, uh.. all started after my dad.. um.. my dad.." Gracie could sense the struggle in her words so she reached a hand over to her and placed it softly of Morgan's cheek. Morgan tensed up for a second before leaning into it with a watery, sad smile.

"It's okay, my love. You can tell me when you're ready, okay?" Gracie whispers softly. As they soaked in the company each other gave, the end credits were still playing from the movie and I'll Always Remember Us This Way was playing.

"You found the light in me that I couldn't find..."
