"Who are you?" Morgan's heart drops.
"What do you mean? I'm Morgan. I'm-... I'm your girlfriend" Morgan quickly explains as she feels panic rise up in her. Gracie was silent for a few seconds before letting out a small laugh.
"I'm just kidding I know who you are babe" she chuckles lightly as Morgan sighs deeply, "I'm sorry I had to!"
"That's the first thing you do when you wake up!" Morgan shouts as she stands up from Gracie's bed, feeling her head spin at the unexpected motion. She shakes it off but it still lingers.
"Morgan, I'm sorry it was just a joke" Gracie panics as she realises she hurt the girls feelings.
"It's fine, it just took me by surprise it's all" she replies as she grasps her head.
"Hey, you okay? Your heads bleeding" Gracie says as she watches the girl closely.
"Yeah... yeah, I'm fine" she manages to get out but it just got worse before she collapses to the floor.
"Morgan!" Gracie panics as she tried to get out of the bed, "oh my god, Morgan wake up!!"
"Gracie, you're awake!" August rushes into the room with a doctor, "where's Morgan-" he asks before noticing the girl on the floor.
"She passed out unexpectedly I don't know how it happened! Please help!" She shouts in a panic as the doctor quickly gets to work, calling other colleagues to the scene as they moved her out of the room.
"August where are they taking her?" Gracie asks him as he pulls her into a hug. Tears fall from her face as she pressed her head into his chest.
"It's fine. It's fine, she's gonna be okay" he soothes her as her head fills with worry for her girlfriend, grasping the guitar pick necklace around her neck.
Time skip
"So, she's gonna be okay. However, it seems she has a case of TGA" the doctor informs Gracie, August and their parents.
"What does this mean?" Gracies father asks the doctor, holding Gracie's hand as comfort.
"TGA or Transient Global Amnesia is when a person is unable to create new memory, so the memory of recent events disappear. You can't remember where you are, or how you got there. You may not remember anything of what's happening right now" the doctor explains to the three of them.
"I need to see her" Gracie says as she sit up more on the bed.
"It's late. I think it'd be best for everyone to go home, just sleep it off and let Miss Fraser have her rest, okay?" The doctor orders. Everyone agrees and bids their goodbyes to Gracie before leaving.
Time skip
"Okay I'm gonna say 5 words and then I'm gonna set a timer for 2 minutes. Once those 2 minutes are up I'm gonna have you repeat those words okay?" The doctor explains as he stands at the end of Morgan's hospital bed with a clipboard and a timer. Gracie was sat in a chair beside her for some moral support.
"Okay. 5 words. Arctic, brain, car, dinner and electric" he says before clicking on the stopwatch. After an agonising 2 minutes it's goes off and the doctor asks Morgan to recite the words.
"Um... alien?... um... I can't-.. I can't remember" Morgan sighs as she lowers her head in shame. The doctor understands and leaves her to be alone with Gracie after a couple of checks. They are both sat in silence before Morgan suddenly starts looking around again.
"Where am I?" She asks Gracie as she looks around confused.
"You're at the hospital" Gracie informs her with a sad smile, "we got into a car accident and were rushed in here"
"Oh my god. Was I drinking?" Morgan asks Gracie, confusing the hell out of the girl.
"N-no. You're 2 years sober Morgan" Gracie says with her eyebrows furrowed together at the question.
"I am?!"
"Uh, yeah" Gracie nodded slightly before looking away from the girl.
"Where am I?" She only asks again, still looking confused.
"You're at the hospital. We got into a car accident and were rushed into here" she repeats again, trying to hold back her tears as she sighs.
"Oh my god. Was I drinking?" Morgan asks in a panic again.
"N-no..." was Gracie replied with as she bowed her head slightly before looking up again, "hey, why don't you get some rest, okay?" Gracie says before kissing the girls forehead and making her way back to her room where she burst into tears.
