"We're gonna do this again. Apple, breeze, canvas, dream, echo" the doctor says before clicking the timer on. It had been a week since they got into the accident and Gracie was all clear and dispatched from the hospital, but due to Morgan's state, Morgan was still there.

Gracie could see in Morgan's face how hard they were trying to remember the words. Once the 2 minutes was up, the doctor asks for her to repeat them.

"Apple... sneeze.. uh, no... breeze.. uh..." Morgan furrows their eyebrows together as they try to remember the rest.

"You can do it" Gracie encourages them, holding onto their hand.

"Uh... fuck I can't remember!" Morgan shouts in frustration.

"Please keep your voice down Miss Fraser" the doctor informs her calmly.

"No! It's useless!! I'm never gonna go back to normal!" Morgan quiets down their voice with a sigh as they put the hand that isn't holding Gracie's, and rubs their face in exhaustion, "can I just be left alone please?" Morgan asks as they let go of Gracie's hand and place it on their face too.

"Oh, uh... yeah sure. Just.. let me know if you need anything, yeah? I'll be right outside" Gracie sighs before walking to the seats outside the room and slumping down in the chair.

"How is she?" A voice asks. She looks up to see her cousin, Abby, sitting down beside her. Gracie lets out a sigh as she looks towards Morgan's room where she can see the girl talking with the doctor.

"She's pushing me away" Gracie mumbles as she looks away from the window.

"Come on, you don't know that" Abby tells her but this only makes Gracie sigh.

"I know what she's like. She's gonna push me away I just know it. As soon as she recovers she's gonna run" Gracie leans forward in her seat and puts her face in her hands.

"Hey, you need to stay positive. She's not gonna run away. You're all she has. You know that. She knows that. She's not gonna run, okay? She loves you more than anything" Abby says as she rubs her cousins back in comfort.

"I guess so" Gracie sighs before sitting up quickly when the doctor leaves Morgan's room.

"Miss Frasers recovery is happening slower than we anticipated. She's more frustrated which is putting a stop to her memory getting any better" the doctor informs her as he looks down at the clipboard in front of him.

"So, what does this mean for her?" Gracie asks with a little confusion. It was only acute amnesia, she should be better by now.

"I mean, she's fully recovered. She'll get a new cast tomorrow and the stitches taken out of her face before she can be sent home later in the day. I will give you some memory exercises if it helps but there's nothing else we can do here" the doctor informs her. They talk, he gives a sheet with memory exercises before leaving.

"You should go back in there, be with her" Abby says as she stands up and gathers her stuff. Gracie only sighs before nodding slightly.

"Hey, I just wanted to talk to you quickly" Abby says as she swiftly stops Gracie from entering Morgan's room.

"Yeah, what's up?" Gracie asks, a little confused on the sudden stop.

"Um, whilst Morgan's been in the hospital and you've been visiting her and helping her, have you been able to take care of yourself?"

"What? Of course I have" Gracie replies quickly, confused what her cousin was getting at.

"So, between visits you've been going home and having proper meals?" Abby asks her. She knows how her cousin can get and she wants to make sure she's still looking after herself.

"What are you talking about Abby?"

"What I'm talking about is you look more exhausted than usual and god forbid me for saying this but thin" she exaggerates, though it wasn't quite exaggerating because anybody who would take one look at Gracie would agree with Abby, even if they didn't know the girl as well as her.

"Abby, I'm fine. It's just the stress of everything that's been going on, okay?" She says, trying to convince her cousin that she was fine. And maybe convincing herself at the same time too.

"...okay, fine. Text when you can, okay?" Abby says before giving Gracie a hug and leaving the hospital. Gracie takes in a few breaths before walking into Morgan's room.

"Hey, so the doctor just informed me you'll be able to leave tomorrow night. That's good, huh?" Gracie tells Morgan as she sits back down in the chair she was just in.

"Uh.. yeah. How did I get in here?" Morgan asks Gracie as she looks around the hospital room. This makes Gracie sigh before she goes back into the same routine she's been doing for the past week.

"We were in a car accident and were rushed to the hospital-"

"No, I know we were in a car accident. I mean, how did I get in this room? It's a different room, right?" She asks as she studies the room once again. This catches Gracie off guard and puts a slight smile on her face.

"You, uh, you collapsed a couple days ago and they had to take you to a different room after they finished all of the tests" Gracie explained in a patient manner.

"Am I gonna be okay?" Morgan asks with a worried face.

"You're okay. You just have a slight case of amnesia. The doctor said you'll get a new cast on your arm tomorrow and the stitches taken out of your face and side of your waist and we can go home" Morgan takes in the information with a little nod as she processes it. She then starts asking a couple more questions as they both fall into a conversation. After about an hour, Gracie notices the exhaustion that lies on Morgan's face.

"Hey, I'm gonna go, okay? But I'll be back here tomorrow to take you home. I love you" she goes to kiss Morgan's forehead before Morgan's face suddenly drops, "what?"

"Um... I.. we went away for the weekend for your birthday... I played your guitar and we walked by the lake and I took pictures... we were in a car accident... we were rushed to the hospital... I collapsed and couldn't remember anything. Oh my god, I can't believe this!" Morgan's explains everything as her face starts to go pale.

"You remember everything?" Gracie asks with a shocked expression on her face.

"I think I'm gonna be sick" Morgan holds her casted hand up to her mouth as she processes the information.

"Morgan... you remember everything??" Gracie asks again, trying to bring her girlfriend back to reality.

"...I remember everything"
