butterfly effect

solar placed his bag at the front door, as he sighed deeply. "do we really have to go?" he asked, "solar, this is a siblings trip, it'll be fun!!" gempa reasoned, his tone gentle despite this being the 10th time solar asked the exact same question.

"i can't delay my experiments!" the gamma elemental protested, in a tone that can be confused as a tantrum which the element frequently does when things don't go his way. "quit whining, you brat" halilintar scoffed, further irritating solar. "says you" solar glared. "that's enough." the crystal elemental warned, making the fight be cut short.

loud footsteps caught their attention, blaze almost tripped when he reach the floor. "taufan and duri are sick-" he informs, "it seems really bad this time!"

the crystal elemental seems surprised. "well, we can't just leave them to fend for themselves.." gempa sighed, but solar seems excited at their sudden sickness. "i can stay!!" the gamma elemental immediately offered, "i mean to take care of them!" he smiled, his excitement making everyone a little creeped out. "it might be hard for you to take care of them alone." gempa turned to blaze, "can you stay too?" gempa asked the pyro elemental.

"of course... not!" blaze denies, "i dreamed about going to this trip!! so no!" halilintar rolled his eyes at blaze's reasoning. "what a double crosser" the voltra elemental murmured. gempa sighed yet again, "well i guess i can-"

"i'll stay" ice offered, to everyone's suprise. "you wanted to go on a trip for the longest time, you should enjoy it and let us take care of them" the blizzard elemental smiled, his sweet words making gempa pleasantly surprised.

"that's very sweet of you" gempa smiled.

after waving them goodbye, the two headed inside. "isn't it weird that they are randomly sick?" solar asked as he and ice began going up the stairs. "not really.. they were playing in the rain last night" ice yawned. solar seemed vaguely surprised, then sighed, "of course they would do something as stupid as that.."

ice chuckled, and soon solar follows. "but admit it, this house won't be the same without them causing havoc" the blizzard elemental reasoned, making solar nod in agreement.

as they reach the second floor, ice nearly tripped on air. he would have fell if solar didn't grabbed him in time. "focus more on your surroundings!" the gamma elemental sighed.

a light knocked woke up the dazed taufan, with every force in his body, the sick boy got up and limply walked towards the door. as he twisted the door knob, he fully expected blaze to come back and says he didn't go to the trip or something.

but he was surprised when it wasn't the pyro elemental and was instead solar. "you look horrible" ice commented out of the blue only to be harshly smacked. taufan opened his mouth to make a comeback, only for his body fell limp.

he used too much energy.

when he did wake up again, he was comfortably tucked into his bed and no longer on the hard floor. "just swallow it!" solar's stressed out tone caught his attention. solar was getting frustrated at the rimba elemental, as duri couldn't swallow the pill even with water.

"i can't solar!!" duri whined, as he spit the medicine out on his hand. "don't you have the syrup ones?" he pleaded. "first of all, spitting your medicine out is gross. second of all, you're almost sixteen, not being able to swallow pills is absolutely sham-"

"that's enough solar" ice interrupts, already knowing solar was gonna say something he'll regret later. "we'll just give them the syrup" he finalized as solar scoffed. "fine!"

"what flavour is it?" taufan asked, shocking everyone as no one knew he was already awake. "i'm guessing it's cherry because it's blaze's medicine" ice yawned again. "aww, i was hoping it'll be blue raspberry flavoured" taufan frowned.

"that sounds way more tastier than cherry if i have to be honest" ice smiled, being able to have a similar opinion with someone is very pleasant. "blue raspberries doesn't even exist" solar rolled his eyes, "don't be so mean solar! just let them enjoy their lives!" duri tries to lecture though it sounded more like a toddler babbling.

solar chuckled, "okay then" he smiled, the frustration he had build up was completely gone. ice randomly stood up, "i'll go get the syrup" he says as he walked out, leaving the three. hearing the footsteps fade, taufan asked "why didn't blaze stay?"

solar was surprised at the beliung elemental's question but fully expected it. for once he actually hesitated, apart of him wanted to lie with a smile plastered across his face but the truth escapes his lips first, "he didn't want to" solar simply says, expecting them to be sadden.

"seems like him i guess" taufan shrugged, "he's always looking for fun!" duri innocently giggled as if it wasn't sad that blaze chose a trip over them. "i guess.." solar's voice almost faded when ice walked in, medicine in hand.

sitting down, the blizzard elemental poured the medicine to small cups and handed them to the sick brothers, "drink it" he says in a lazy tone.

in one gulp, taufan swallow the medicine, the overly sweet artificial cherry he knew blaze loved coated his mouth. "bleh.." he felt nauseous as he put the cup away. duri however, had a harder time with the medicine. "why is it so sweet but so bitter??" the rimba elemental whined, "it's medicine, what do you expect?" solar frowned.

after a longgggg while, duri was finally done taking tiny sips of the medicine. "yeay, it's finally finished!" duri cheered, even though his body aches at the slightest movement. "do you want a cookie?" solar teased, "i want a cookie!!!" duri smile grew, the joke going over his head. "that's not what he meant.." taufan sighed. "but i want one too!"

stars glimmered throughout the sky, a beautiful scenery. even though the four couldn't tag along with the trip, at least they can enjoy eachother's comforts. the others would be coming back tomorrow anyways.

giggles and faint chuckles filled the otherwise quiet room, "imagine naming your armor sambal-" taufan wheezed before falling into a coughing fit. "quit laughing while you're sick, it'll only make things worse" solar says, but he himself could barely handle his own laughter.

with them, siblings they barely greet or acknowledge most of the day. they felt at ease, they all got along well even if its a stretch from their own respective circles and preferences.

"-so, because he lost all of his powers. retak'ka went after the current holder of the seven elementals-" solar recites from the book, this was practically a bedtime story for them. "the original gamma user was so evil just like you, solar!!" duri commented, earning himself a death glare from solar, the present day gamma user.

"the current holder made a mistake, he used his gamma elemental against retak'ka, not realizing that retak'ka was able to absorb the attack as the power was originally his."

"in a life or death situation, the holder was forced to run away with only 3 elements remaining. later, he found and trained with the original crystal user. under the wise man's guidance, he was able to become stronger and come up with a new tec-"

soft snores disrupt his storytelling, as he lifts his gaze up, he noticed everyone but himself had fallen asleep. solar chuckled, before his own pair of eyes starts to feel heavy. with a smile on his face, his eyes and consciousness closes fully.

gempa knocked gently, "are you guys awake?" he asked. he, blaze and halilintar had just gotten back from their trip and wanted to check up on their other siblings. after a while of waiting, the crystal elemental opened the door, a smile creeps up his face at what he saw.

all four of his siblings, sound asleep on a bean bag, with blankets and some pillows from their own rooms. "didn't knew they could even get along" blaze commented, his voice unusually low. halilintar soundlessly pulled out his phone and took a picture, "this would be a nice memory" he almost whispered as a smile shapes his otherwise cold face.

maybe it was a good thing they didn't tag along.
