The call was from his friend Cabir.

Sighing he picked up the call only to hear an unstoppable rant "
Hello Mr . Devdas , i know you are alone sulking at home , getting frustated and must have become a giant gorilla , and yes now you might be planning my murder so before that i have a plan , tomorrow is a Sunday that is your offday so we fab 4 have decided a nightout today and then tomorrow party or a picnic what say Manik baba"
Manik silently heard him and said simply " No "Cabir could not believe his ears , firstly Manik didnot snap at him for calling him so many names also being a party animal himself , Manik said no to party so he again asked "What and why? Did i hear right ?" Manik now clearly irritated snapped" A no means no Cabir , i have some famiy commitments today as well as tomorrow , so no , now if you are done i will keep the call"
Cabir now believed " this was the same Manik , thankgod otherwise i thought within few weeks Manik changed due to breakup..Well atleast we fab4 will plan our party
Karan was just going to open her fist to see the Mehendi but suddenly they heard a gunshot , and afraid they both ran towards the main hall only to get shocked with their life .Their whole family was at the gunpoint of few goons ,one of them was snatching every-ones jewellery , money and valuable things , Preeta tried to hit one of the goon from back but got caught by them similarly Karan got caught . Every-one was hell scared and worried about their and their family's life and hence each and every person started giving all the ornaments like rings ,earrings , necklace , chains bangles wallets etc. When the goon came towards Preeta , as per asked she gave her earrings and her gold ring .Thinking that she gave every valuable the goon moved forward but the other goon saw something .
He furiously came towards her and snapped , " Hey you lady , did you not hear what did we said 'everything means Every single thing" . Preeta now confused " But i did gave my earings and my ring ?" to which the goon caught her hand showing her " then what is this , this bracelet isnt it of gold too" Saying this he tried to remove the bracelet but Preeta stopped him saying" No i am not going to give you this ,you have got other things too right let this bracelet go "to which the goon smirked saying " Oh so special one ha, but so sorry we dont have bargain system here so just give it or i have other ways too , well your this mangalsutra ,this too is real diamond right , come on remove this too " and Preeta could not stop herself from slapping him but the reaction that came from goon led her to fall on floor. Karan who was till now begging to leave Preeta now became angry and roared " Hey dont touch her , how dare you throw her down? " saying this he freed himself from the goon and started punching the goon. but to his avail ,he was again caught by the other goons and was now at gunpoint himself" The engraged goon kept gun at his head and threatened Preeta " Hey you girl , give me the bracelet and that mangalsutra , otherwise i would not hesitate to pull the trigger " to which the Luthras shouted " No".Preeta was now at a edge , she did not knew what to do she does not want to hurt Karan but how can she remove the bracelet , no way this bracelet was gifted by Manik , hell he took it from his first income,and Mangalsutra ,she was just married yesterday how can she remove it already . while she was in her thoughts the Luthra family was constantly convincing and shouting at her to remove the Mangalsutra and Bracelet ......
But before anything happens , Police officers reached the venue and the situation was under control , the goons were arrested but Kareena and Bani Luthra were constantly blaming Preeta " See bhabhi i said you right , this girl is selfish , here Karan was on verge of death but still she did not give her mangalsutra . " to which Bani dadi added " Let go of Mangalsutra , she is married but bracelet , Preeta was that bracelet more important that Karan to you , more important than even his life "

The officers who heard them could not stop themselves from saying" Maam , i dont know what exactly happened here but , the person who called us on time here was Ms Preeta ,so if she would have not informed us , you all might have not been here till now " Saying so they left with the goons asking Sarla to come next day at police station for the formalities . Preeta who was now a crying mess ran to her house and closed her room door crying out her guts .

Shrishti warned Luthras to wrap their function right now as it was enough drama for today , before anyone could retort Rishab being the 'sensible' one demanded them to leave the venue right now . Karan was not able to think anything so he just left with other family members . Rishab joining his hands , left from there ,whereas a worried Sarla and Shrishti ran towards their home only to see Preetas room to be locked from inside . They were able to hear hiccups and cries from her room .
Both Sarla and Shrishti tried to call her to open the door but no avail.
On the other hand Preeta just kept crying while all the taunts kept roaming in her mind , Her right hand clutched her mangalsutra whereas her left hand clutched her bracelet tightly . Only one thing was in her mind ,was she selfish ? cause as they said a bracelet is ofcourse not more important that any one's life but ists not any bracelet , may be they donot know its importance but for her this bracelet is very important , how can she just give it away ? okay she might be selfish , but mangalsutra it was very important to every women ,and soo was to her especially when she was just married yesterday and it is said a new bride should not remove the mangalsootra ,else no she cant even imagine anything happen to Manik ? Was she selfish ?
