THE RAIN CRASHED DOWN LIKE ACID, why'd she ever run? She is officially homeless. There is no going back. Young nine year old Sophia Harp, walking the streets of a town she doesn't even know the name of. "It was the right decision." She tells herself over and over. All the clarification in the world won't help her now. She's stuck a street wanderer forever. Her parents abandoned her. No one knows who she is. Not even the government. She was always nicknamed the 'nobody girl' since a very young age.

But as she estimates the pain and suffering she'll endure as a 9 year old on the streets, she realises that she endured more by being back at home with her parents. They're early twenties, living alone in a bet up apartment with one child that wasn't on purpose, and only known as a stupid attempt at a pull out. They used to remind her every day that she's not meant to be here, that's all she's ever titled herself. "The mistake.". Her father would beat her bone dry, the cuts and bruises on her weak and fragile body were evidence to that statement. Though her mother never hit her, her words cut deeper than knifes and daggers.

She used to sit in the corner of the living room, inhaling the fumes of the weed and drugged air. Her body unhealthily skinny and malnourished as she took in the hateful words that met her ears. "You little fucking cunt, wait till your father cuts you 3 layers of your own skin!" Was a common occurrence, and it wasn't even a metaphorical thing. Not to scare her into being good, though she hadn't been bad anyway. It was the truth, and when her mother said these kinds of things, she'd only have to sit and wait for the act to take place. Living in fear all the time.

Tears fell from her droopy and tired eyes as she realised there is nothing she can do. She is nobody to anyone. She has no mom to hug and hold, no dad to laugh and play with. No one. Suddenly a flash of light startled her, following an aggressive howl and rumble of thunder. Sophia has always been scared of lightning. There's something so horrifying about it. She cried aloud, sprinting up some random driveway with a porch light buzzing and flickering at the entrance. There was no need for knocking, as her loud cries would alarm anyone as much as a doorbell should.
