ii. smile and worry
CHASING EACH OTHER — with or without ikrans — had soon become part of your daily routine.
it didn't mattered where you were, or what time of the day it was.
it was something that the two of you needed to do, to make things always feel the same.
and it happened a lot more then you realized, at first people would worry, and be suspicious of the absence of the first child.
but after some times everyone became accustomed with it, and the na'vi stopped questioning it.
that's why when neither you nor neteyam were around that day, his parents weren't worried about him.
firstly because he was with you, your tribe's name enough to scar away the angriest of the predators; and even if someone would have been crazy enough to try something they knew that you wouldn't have let anything happen to their son.
secondly because they knew that you two were just enjoying some alone time — lo'ak had used that term to tease the two of you more then once, and now the words alone made you want to punch him in the face — around pandora.
but as much as you both liked it, and trust me you liked it a lot, you still had some things that needed to be done.
patrol being the first on that list.
the humans weren't something that you could forget about during the day, even if you wanted too, they were always there in the back of your mind, probably plotting something that jake would crumble in seconds.
that meant that you knew that in every moment they were ready to re-attack.
so you and neteyam sadly left your alone time aside to meet up with his parents, looking around the base to see if there were any unwanted tourists.
lo'ak was supposed to be with you four, but his father had grounded him and he had had to say goodbye to his flying friend for some time.
nothing seemed off place, everything looked and felt normal.
you were ready to go back to your really important activities, until a voice buzzed in your ear, lo'ak's voice to be exact.
"devil dog, devil dog" he called over the comms "this is eagle eye, over."
he was whispering, and if the fact that he was using the comms wasn't enough to tell you that he was in danger his tone would have helped you finding that out.
