Neil didn't introduce Jenny to the principal, he was late to work so he had to peel out of the parking lot as soon as both girls got out of his (probably violating multiple health codes) car. She'd tensed, enveloped by all the noise and feeling it all dig into her brain. It was louder than she'd expected, she hadn't braced herself for the bombardment.

But Hailey was here, her hand gripping hers with a bright smile. Her familiar face calmed the rising panic that gnawed at her tight chest and she let her shoulders droop. Yet they both knew that Jenny was still on high alert, like a wolf animal that was being hunted. It was unspoken agreement to not talk about it.

Hailey talked slowly, letting the information wash over her aunt as she brought her to the principal's office, passing over the girl's paperwork to the office lady. She explained the required courses for the both of them and the extracurricular options. She also sneakily slid in that the cheerleading tryouts were at the end of the week and the signup was outside of the door.

Their meeting with the principal was quick and kind, he was all gentle smiles and understanding eyes. Jenny couldn't help but feel uncomfortable in her skin, despite his sweet demeanor. She wasn't too fond of men, especially ever since she came back. It didn't matter if they were nice. Derek and her brother were the only men to be exceptions to that little quirk.

"Come on, you've got art first." Hailey stated, her eyes roaming over the schedule that had been printed out for her. "We have lunch, chem, english, and Econ together. Your electives are art, free period, mythology, and psychology. Lots of 'logies'."

Passing Jenny the schedule, she grinned. "Since you have lunch with me, you can eat with me, Stiles and Scott if you want. But if you're not ready for what I can eat with you."

"I'll let you know when it's closer." Jenny said quietly, her eyes scanning over the paper. Her brows her taut and Hailey could tell that she was both worried and overwhelmed.

"Hey. You're gonna do great. I'll find you after first and we'll walk to English together, okay?" Hailey placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "It's gonna be awesome."

The bell rang, signaling the five minute you had to get into class and Hailey directed her aunt into the classroom, introducing her to Mr. Holmes and then waved goodbye, heading off to her first period. Leaving Jenny officially alone. The girl took a moment to calm herself down before she turned and took in the room. There were four rows of desks, each with an easel at their side and it seemed like everyone liked to sit up front near the teacher. Jenny found a nice spot by the window and sat down on the stool, her hands between her knees.

She knew Hailey was right and that she'd do fine here, she'd done it before. But she couldn't help but feel nervous.  She's spent so long in the veil with dead things that living things were still foreign to her. Animals and plants were her things. She understood those.
