He hadn't toured in over six months but she had still been working as much if not more than she ever did. The only time they got to spend together was when they shared an occasional dinner together or lay in bed together sleeping.
The telephone ringing pulled her from her thoughts and she went inside to pick it up. "Hello." Victoria brought the cordless back onto the terrace with her and sank into the green chaise lounge.
"Victoria, its Paige. I was wondering if you would be a luv and baby-sit Tyler for me. I have to go with Sav to pick up his mum from the airport. She decided to pay us a surprise visit and I have been cleaning like a mad woman trying to get ready for her. We'll only be gone for a couple of hours."
Victoria smiled. She loved watching Tyler but her smile reminded her all too vividly of the split lip she had and Victoria wasn't sure Tyler should be around Joe right now.
"I don't know Paige. Joe's kind of going through some stuff right now and I'm not sure having a four year old running around is such a good idea." Victoria said brushing the tear from her eye.
"How about you come over here? I'm really desperate Victoria. My regular sitter is sick and can't do it. Just this once." Paige pleaded.
"What time would you be back? Joe and I have plans later today and I don't think he'd like it if I cancelled on him. I hate to upset him again." Victoria said regretting the words the moment they were out of her mouth.
"What do you mean Victoria? Have you and Joe been having problems?"
"I shouldn't have said anything Paige. I'm sure we'll work it out." Victoria said unsure they would.
"If you say so luv. Why don't you tell Joe right now that you're babysitting Tyler. I'll make sure we're back before you have to leave for the movies." Paige assured her.

"I don't know Paige; I think Joe wanted to spend the whole day together. He's down in the studio right now but will be up shortly. We're planning to leave right after." Victoria said nervously.
"I suppose we can take Tyler with us but I kind of hate to take him out, I think he's coming down with a cold. He was kind of sniffly this morning." Paige felt Tyler's forehead and he felt a bit warm.
"On second thought, I think I'll take Tyler to the doctor and Sav can go pick up his mum. Tyler has a fever and I want to get some meds for him but Victoria, I'm planning to come over tomorrow and we're going to talk about this further. Okay?" Paige told her not really giving her much choice.
"Okay Paige. I have to go now. Talk to you later." Victoria hung up as Joe emerged from the studio and smiled at her.
"Are you ready to go luv?" Joe asked planting a small kiss on her cheek.
"Yes. Let me get my purse." Victoria gathered her purse from the table in the living room and stepped out into the warm afternoon air waiting for Joe as he locked the door.
"Who was that on the phone baby?" Joe asked inquiringly.
"That was Paige. She had wanted me to baby sit Tyler but I told her we had plans." Joe nodded.
"Good girl. We need more time together. I hope that's all you told her." Joe said casting a warning glance at his wife.
The look in Joe's eyes sent a cold chill down her spine. "No, I didn't tell her anything else." Victoria lied.
Joe quickly found a parking space right in front of Cinema Treasures which was lucky considering how many people now stood in line waiting to be let into the theater. Victoria felt as if some people were staring at her and she walked behind Joe so as to not be as conspicuous.
