It was coming to the end of Aria's shift and the teenage boys still sat with their drinks.

"We're closing in 10." She tightens her ponytail.
"On the house?" The messy blonde haired boy asks.

She turns and raises an eyebrow at him, in shock that he would ask such a thing.

"Absolutely not." Aria snaps.
"Oh come on, that's not a very good first impression now is it?"
"Just pay for your damn drinks." Kiara scoffs, flipping chairs on top of tables.

"Okay, okay." The blonde raised his arms in the air. A large wad of cash gets placed on the countertop in from a different boy.

"A little extra for how beautiful you are." The buzz cut boy winks and leaves the restaurant, behind his two friends.

The girl stood there blushing as she picked up the money. Underneath it, there was a note that read,
bonfire tomorrow night -rafe.

She smiled and put the note in the back pocket of her blue jean shorts.

After the three girls closed up the restaurant, Aria offered Kiara a ride home. "That would be great, I was gonna ride with my boring parents anyway." She laughs.

On the ride home, Kie explained what Kooks and Pogues were and how the boys from earlier were the 'kook kings'. They arrived at Kiara's house and she stepped out of their tall Jeep. "One more thing, there is a bonfire tomorrow night, do you guys want to come with my friends and I?" Kie asked.

"Finally, a party! Of course we'll be there!" Mia shouts.
"Okay sounds good, here's my number." Kiara says.

The next morning, Aria decided to be productive and go long boarding. Their new neighborhood was extremely nice, all the homes were put together so well.

On her ride, she noticed another girl around her age on her teal cruiser bike, looking happier than ever. The blonde took out an airpod and says, "Hey, good morning!"

"Hey!" She smiles. "I love your long board, I've wanted to learn how to ride one for so long." The girl says. "Oh, thank you! It seems like most people just surf here." Aria giggles.
"Oh, you must be new then?" She asks.

"Yeah, I actually just moved in yesterday." Aria says, pointing to her house down the street. "Oh that's fun, I was actually going to go get coffee by myself if you wanted to join me?" She smiles. Her smile was so genuine and sweet, she couldn't say no.

"That sounds like fun, let's go." She says, starting to pedal again. "By the way, I'm Sarah, what's your name?"
"I'm Aria." She says with a small smile.

The girls arrived at the coffee shop, it connected to a golf course, meaning that it was the country club her Mom told her about.

They sat down with their coffee and Aria told Sarah about her life back in the city. Sarah spilled all the island drama and everything that Aria needed to know about Outer Banks.

"So, are you going to the bonfire tonight?" Sarah asks.
"Wow, everyone keeps asking me that." They both laugh. "It's one of the most important nights of the year, trust me, you want to be there. And don't bother coming if you don't have a cute outfit." Sarah giggles.

The girls finish up their coffee and head home to get ready. Aria picked out a pair of blue jean shorts and a red strapless top. She straightened her hair and put on a good amount of makeup, she wanted to look more than presentable for the mystery guy.

The twin sisters leave the house and hop in a random beat-down van. "Hey girls!" Kiara greets them. There were three other boys in the car with them and the girls introduced themselves.

Once they arrived, Aria immediately knew what the hype was about. People were crowding all along the beach as the sun was slowly setting.

"I need a drink."
