This Moonlit Lake Tonight

This moonlit lake tonight

Devoid of ripples of life;

Flows away so gently, humbly, yet cruelly,

Trying not to show its might.

The cityscape is now a blur

A thousand lights shine from afar;

As I stand here recklessly,

Crying in my golden hour.

The constellations ever so bright,

Wash away my pain and guilt when upon me they shower.

This moonlit lake tonight has once again mended my shattered heart,

Oh ! But how well it knows -

For eons and eons to come

There will be summers of sorrows,

And summers of scars.
