The bright sunlight slowly woke you from an uncomfortable sleep, your eyes flitting as you looked around. Your arms and legs were held in place by an almost alien-like contraption you had never seen before.
You looked around more; up, down, left, right, as you came to your senses. Whatever large tube you were in was brightly lit by the sun, worsening your already throbbing headache and dwindling any chance of possibly going back to sleep.
You looked through the clear window of the tube you were in, your heart dropping so far it felt you would have a hernia.
Sand. An endless sea of sand. Sand Dunes making up every inch of the dry valley that was the sub-Saharan desert.
You wondered what had happened, last thing you remembered was sitting in the back of your father's Limousine, something darting through your vision, a pinch in your neck, and now you were here.
Now you had many questions, starting with: Where is Dad? Where is Kiri? How did I get here?
You tried to break free, wriggling back and forth, trying to break free of the cuffs hold; but the position you were held in restricted your movement and made it hard to get any momentum to force yourself free.
You pushed and pulled, grunted and strained, your wrists nearly losing blood flow as a result of your efforts. The walls began to close in, you began breathing rapidly, your vision began to tunnel, you claustrophobia creeping in. But as you were about to black out, you screamed at the top of your lungs.
"NO!"
Suddenly, you emitted an impulse of solar energy, completely destroying the cell you were mysteriously placed in and sending burning debris flying every which way.
You plopped down on the sand, taking deep breaths of the dry desert air. You lay there for a while, the sand, while slightly irritating on your skin, was warm. So you lay there, slowly regaining your composure.
When you were ready, you stood, taking a look around at your handy work. "Whoa..." That was all you could whisper out. You began thinking of where to go. Having no sense of direction, and a sea of sand that could be seen as far as his eyes would allow all you could do was choose a direction and walk, hoping to find someplace to get help.
As far as you were concerned, you were alone and defenseless; and to the world, or at least those in it who knew you, you were dead.
