The winter breeze swept through the stadium, carrying with it a sense of anticipation.
As the song "Can't Help Falling In Love" played, Jobe stood on the field, glancing up at the stands where his family and you sat, your faces radiant with excitement.
As the referee blew the whistle, signaling the start of the match, Jobe felt a surge of determination.
In the stands, Jude and Mark, dressed in a Sunderland scarf, leaned forward, gripping the railing. "Come on, Jobe!" Jude shouted, his voice carrying across the field.
Mark looked at Jude while laughing. He was so happy to see his older son again. Since moving to Madrid they barely got to see each other so him having winter break and watching Jobe's game together meant everything to him.
As you watched Jobe play, you couldn't help but think about your current situation.
You were only young but living with Jobe and his Dad in Sunderland without your family. They were all back in Birmingham without you since you made the decision to move in with Jobe when he transferred to Sunderland.
As happy as you were with your decision, now around Christmas, you couldn't help but miss them as a silent tear rolled down your cheek.
As you were deep in your thoughts you realized it was soon halftime and no goals were scored. Though as soon as you looked, you saw a player, running in the direction of Sunderland's goal as he shot the ball into the net.
You could feel the disappointment of the fans, everyone was expecting more for the final home game of the year.
But as the second half began, you could slowly see the determination of the players.
The game unfolded with intensity. Jobe weaved through opponents, his focus unwavering. Each time he made a strategic pass or edged closer to the goal, the shouts and cheers from you and the fans resonated deeply.
As finally, the first goal for Sunderland fell, the stadium erupted in cheers.
As Jobe maneuvered brilliantly, weaving through defenders, You couldn't contain your excitement.
Jude nodded, his eyes fixed on Jobe. "He's been practicing that move! I'm telling you, it's paying off!"
Everyone was on their feet with minutes remaining, Jobe made a daring move, shooting the ball into the back of the net culminating in a breathtaking goal resulting in the win for Sunderland.
The stadium erupted in a deafening roar, but Jobe's eyes sought out to you. You were on your feet, cheering wildly.
As Jobe approached you after the game, Jude grinned widely. "That goal, Jobe! You killed it out there!"
Denise enveloped Jobe in a hug. "We're so proud of you, sweetheart! That was fantastic!"
You beamed as you hugged him tightly. "You were incredible, babe! That goal was amazing!" You said as you looked up at him and planted a kiss on his lips.
Jobe grinned, feeling love and pride wash over him. "Thanks, everyone. Having you all here meant everything to me." He said as his hand stroked your back lightly.
You left the stadium together, chatting animatedly about the game as Denise asked you a question.
"Are you visiting your family on Christmas, (Y/N)?"
"Uh, no. They're all really busy and i honestly don't wanna leave now it's stressful the day before Christmas." You said as your smile dropped, sadness washing over you as you missed your family a lot more now seeing Jobe had everyone here and you didn't.
Jobe tightened his arm around your shoulder, providing you with some comfort. He knew you missed them a lot.

Arriving at home, you see the lights on in your house.
"Why's the light on, Mark? Did we forget to turn it off?" You asked curious as you turned to face Mark and Jobe
"No we didn't don't worry." He said, smiling slightly.
Saying you were confused was an understatement.
The four of you stepped on the porch, opening the front door as you heard silent rustling. You were starting to panic as you thought someone maybe broke in.
But you were surprised with your mum standing in the hallway in front of you.
You were so overwhelmed as you approached her with tears in your eyes, so relieved to finally see her.
As you hugged her tightly, you saw your dad and your brother in the living room, smiling brightly.
"Oh my God, what are you guys doing here? I thought you were busy?" You said laughing, hugging the three of them.
"Jobe said you missed us and flew us over here for Christmas. I thought it would be a nice surprise." Your mum told you, smiling from ear to ear.
When you heard that, you turned to Jobe and gave him the biggest hug you could. You were so thankful for him.
"Thank you, thank you. I love you so much, Jobe."
"I love you too, my love." He whispered quietly in your ear as he kissed the top of your head.
This Christmas couldn't have been any better.
