A Jedi, A Timelord, and A Death Star

First there was the peaceful age of the Old Republic. Good warriors known as Jedi used the power of the Force ( a mystical presence that, if manipulated, can be used to summon, push, or move objects as well as increase your focus, fighting skill, and allow you to control people’s minds) to keep peace among the thousands of planets in the galaxy. But even the greatest of people had enemies. The Jedi were simultaneously locked in a never-ending power struggle with an evil kind known as the Sith. The Sith used the Force just as the Jedi did, but in a different way. The evil Sith manipulated the Force to an extent that they could use it to choke, torture, or even summon lightning on whoever they wished.

            After thousands of years, the Jedi finally believed that they had rid the galaxy of Sith. However, a new problem immediately arose. The powerful company known as the Trade Federation had been secretly creating a thousands-strong army of battle droids. When the Jedi found out and attempted to stop them, it was revealed that the Sith were behind it all. Eventually an alliance of planets pulled away from the Republic and started mass-producing the battle droids, creating an alliance known as “The Separatists”. The Separatists were joined by the Sith, lead by Darth Sidious.

            On the other hand was the Galactic Republic, the alliance of non-Separatist planets and Jedi who fought their battles using enormous armies of highly-trained clones. The Republic were led politically by Chancellor Palpatine. The Republic and Separatists waged massive and back-and-forth war until a series of events triggered the collapse of both sides.  

            It was revealed that the leader of the Republic and the leader of the Sith were the same person. He was simply pretending to be Chancellor so that he could gain access into the Jedi. Darth Sidious also managed to convince one of the most powerful and reckless Jedi, Anakin Skywalker, to betray his own people. Darth Sidious then ordered his clone troopers to commit “Execute order 66”. This meant that the Jedi were now enemies of the Republic and the clones were to turn on them in battle and kill them. Every Jedi who were leading clones in battle were killed, except for one, Obi-Wan-Kenobi. The ones that had remained behind in the Jedi Temple were attacked by a regiment of elite clone troopers led by Anakin. Soon, only two Jedi remained. Jedi Master Yoda, and Jedi Knight Obi-Wan.

            The battle droids were destroyed once and for all, and the emperor (Darth Sidious) now reigned supreme over the entire galaxy. His right-hand-man, Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker), became feared, as he choked his own officers if they did wrong. Eventually, the clones were turned into a new army, the storm troopers.

            However, there can never be dictatorship without opposition. Secretly, an alliance of men and aliens from planets all over the galaxy joined together and created the Rebel Alliance, based on the planet Yavin 4. One of the members, Luke Skywalker, is discovered to be strong in the force and is trained by Obi-Wan to become a Jedi.

            This story takes place just as the Rebels are launching an attack on the Empire’s ultimate weapon, The Death Star, a moon-sized space station with enough firepower to destroy a planet.
