(a/n ~ a few things about the ending of the last chapter were changed, instead of y/n staying with eren for the night she leaves after saying that she needs time to think about their relationship going forward

when she gets back to her apartment, imani calls her and asks her to go to jean's party to help cheer up connie. this chapter will have dual perspectives and takes place the same night at jean's house party)

Y/N POV

The sky was dark and air was chillier than usual. You wore a slim fitting skirt and a long sleeve top considering you were going to be inside of the house with a lot of body heat, but you hadn't prepared for the fact that you actually had to walk outside to get into the house. Imani and Sasha walked ahead of you, side by side, next to one another.

They were talking about something but you drowned out the noise of everything surrounding you and just let your thoughts take you away. You analyzed Jean's house, noticing how big it was and how it was the perfect spot to host a party considering his closest neighbor was about a mile away. People were going back and forth, in and out of the well lit house, not being able to decide where they wanted to be.

You found yourself looking around to see if you could spot the tall brunette that you'd been with just hours before. You left things with him a little iffy, and despite needing time to think part of you wanted him to be there for that process. But at the same time you were pissed at Eren for making one of the people you cared about most start to push you away. It wasn't all his fault, but if he'd been honest about his intentions with you from the start most of the drama that you had going on around you wouldn't be there.

You'd yet to tell any of your friends the situation that you'd gotten yourself into, not wanting to burden them with a problem that could easily heal itself with time even though it was weighing you down inside. You really liked Eren, but was it worth it to ruin not only your friendship with Connie, but Eren's as well?

If you could go back and change a few of your actions you would.

As you walked up the creaky stone steps that led to Jean's front door you were greeted with a harsh shove to your shoulder. Your hand immediately shot to the aching spot on your body and your eyes averted to the figure in front of you that had caused the pain. Your eyes widened and the feeling in your shoulder was suddenly not your main focus anymore.

Nothing but pure anger and disgust washed over you as you watched your ex, Kobi, freeze in front of you. He relaxed his body and flashed you a smile, reaching his hand out to lay on your shoulder. "Y/n? I'm-"

Your reflexes kicked in and you shoved his hand away from your arm and pushed past him without hearing the rest of what you assumed was going to be an apology. Imani and Sasha called out from behind you, but you kept moving forward and managed to lose them in the crowd of people walking into the house.

Kobi was the last person you expected to see, and the last person you wanted to see. After he stole your money and left the state, there was no trace of him. You hired a P.I. to go after him but it was pointless. The money may not have made a dent in your bank account, but it was something that you worked hard for.

Thinking about the past did nothing but piss you off even more. You made your way to the kitchen where a massive group of people were playing cup pong and went over to the bar to get yourself a drink.
