Mission Z6:
Target: Musiaky
Location: Gotham City, NY
Intent: Elimination

Another day. Another slay. Literally. I will be chopping off this dude's head in the next 48 hours. My sister has assigned me yet another assassin case, hooray.

Musiaky used to be one of our coordinators, but apparently he was a traitor this entire time and selling us out. Once his deal with Kiahtei (enemy organization), he immediately fled the country. Luckily, Yuni had tails on him before he fled, so we have his exact location.

I'll be taking my best friend, Yuni, with me for this mission. Musiaky alone isn't a dangerous man, so there's no need for excessive back-up.

Yuni and I have been best friends ever since my grandfather died. We became exceptionally close over the years. She is now one of our most prized assassins.

<< One day later >>

"Ugh I think I'm jet sick," I complain. It's been 24 hours and at the speed we're going... I think I'm gonna hurl.

"Don't be silly, we've been on a million rides on this thing," Yuni mutters while biting into a breakfast bar. She looks down at the jet's clock, "we only have one hour until we reach Gotham."

"Finally." I mope.

"Hey, do you want some tea?" Yuni asks. "It might make you feel better."

At this point, I'm resting my head on the window waiting for the boring and long flight to be over. I give her a small nod before going back to counting sheep.

709 sheep. 710 sheep. 711-

"Here." Yuni hands me a little china cup with herbal tea. For a split second, she hesitates handing it to me.

That's weird.

I mentally slap myself, no Suki, you're just imagining things and probably need to sleep.

I gulp down the entire cup before handing it back empty to her. She looks down at the cup, "you drank it all," she says flatly.

I smile cheesily, "of course, how could I pass up your specialty drink, your excellency?"

She pats me on the head like a mother would to her child. Even though she's only two years older than me, she's basically like my older sister.

"Thirty minutes until the destination is reached," the jet's computer announced.

I sigh in relief and stand up to stretch out my sore back. As I stand up from my chair, the room shifts a bit. Actually no, my vision was the only slightly faltering. I lean onto the wall for support.

"Wha-?" I begin to say in confusion. "Ugh!" I immediately put my hand over my chest. It feels like my heart is ripping into pieces. My legs give out and I fall to the floor on my knees.

I weakly look up to see Yuni's figure stand over me. I reach my hand out so she can help me up, but instead, she slaps it away. My heart shatters, not physically but I wish it was.

I simply ask, "why?" in a broken voice. I knew why deep down , my initial confusion and shock slowly shifted to a painful understanding. But I needed to hear it from her. I needed her to confirm it herself that she's trying to kill me.

"Your reign ends here now," Yuni says in a monotone voice. She draws out her sword, "long live Kiahtei."

I look up at her, my eyes painted with fury.

"In your fucking dreams," I send a blade of wind up at her. I can't see clearly, but she most likely blocked some of the attack as she flew back into the control table of the jet because she immediately gets up and charges at me.

I draw out my sword and the one-sided fight begins. I'm basically immobilized and my senses are all down. Heck, even my powers are cut down almost all the way. My attacks are weak and inaccurate. Whatever she drugged me with is killing me quickly.

My main attack style is to compress my wind into a sharp and thin blade. I cut into my opponent or simply rip them apart. So even if I can't properly harness my powers or use my sword, I can still cut deep into her.

BAM!

I rip out a piece of metal from the jet shape it into several sharp daggers. The screeching from the metal makes me wince. My head feels like it's on fire. This should end this fight at least.

I release them towards the direction of her blurry figure and hear her yelp when she got hit.

Ugh. The poison is acting fast. I can barely breathe. Using the wall, I stagger towards her.

A circle of wind wraps around her neck. The smell of blood has completely taken over the jet. Both mine and hers. I couldn't avoid several hits, but none were fatal. It couldn't be said the same for Yuni. Several daggers sunk into her abdomen and chest as she lays on the cold metal floor.

"You." I begin to say. "Was anything real?" I paused as tears threaten to leave my eyes. "This mission, it was all planned by you right," I asked.

No answer was the answer. Her eyes avoided mine. It said it all.

"Why?" I demand. I drop onto my knees. My tears begin to shamefully fall. I felt so betrayed.

"No." her voice breaks the silence. It was a flat response, but I knew, it was coated with sadness. "I-I loved you like my own sister," she pauses, "but the world is cruel Suki." Tears fall from her eyes as well. "I was born for this exact moment, destiny can't be betrayed but sisters can."

I knew what this meant. As a leader. As an assassin. As a person in this fucked up system.

"Kill me Suki...let me be selfish one more time. Take my suffering away." Yuni says weakly.

I shakily put my hand on her face. Our eyes finally meet. Both with a thousand stories behind them. Both with ill fated ahead of them.

A crack was heard and her eyes turned dull. Quiet. Dead. And oddly peaceful.

Cough.

Blood drips from my mouth onto the floor. I don't want to die. No yet. I haven't said goodbye to my sister. No. No. I can't leave her alone. Who's going to nag her to go sleep? She's gonna be lonely without me. I'm the only one she has left. With all my strength, I force myself toward the control board. I look up into the cracked windshield.

My eyes go wide when I realize that we're going to crash. The consequences from our fight screwed up the jet's system and we were headed straight for the ground.

My body was too tired to act and mind already gave up. I sit on the floor of the jet, my back leaning on the control table.

My breaths were uneven and painful. In front of me was the corpse of who I thought to be my best friend. Behind me was my doom if the poison doesn't kill me first. I close my eyes and everything goes black.
