Percy and Jason had just returned with Piper. Hearing their story, I was honestly more worried about Jason than Percy, but I kept that little nugget of concern to myself. Why share when you can brood silently? "Eidolons, stand up," Piper commanded. Percy, Jason, and Leo rose, and I quickly followed suit. Insomnia has its perks; I'd spent the night making special bullets just for this kind of situation. You know, just a typical evening of bullet crafting.
Piper was trying her best to charm-speak the eidolons out of them, but I had a faster solution. I transformed my ring into a gun and loaded it with my special bullets. Pointing it at Percy's head, I announced, "This gun has celestial bronze." Because why not add a little more drama to the situation? "If I shoot, you die too," I continued, calmly ignoring the terror bubbling inside me. Everyone else was pretty much frozen, unsure of what to do next. "You won't do that," Not-Percy challenged me.
"The only person here who actually cares about me is Leo," I said. "Jason is his best friend, but they've only just met you. If I shot you, he wouldn't be devastated." And with that, Not-Percy lunged at me. I shot him in the arm, then turned and did the same to Leo and Jason. Annabeth and Piper jumped, clearly not expecting my 'shoot first, ask questions later' approach.
"What have you done?!" Annabeth screamed. Without missing a beat, I ordered everyone to bring nectar and ambrosia, because nothing fixes a gunshot wound like magical Greek food. I then carefully extracted the bullets from Leo, Jason, and Percy. "Feed them nectar and ambrosia," I instructed like I was giving a cooking lesson.
"These bullets are for extracting the eidolons," I explained. "I developed them after seeing what happened with Leo." Annabeth looked impressed, which was a nice bonus. The three boys started to come around. "What happened?" Percy asked, confused. I wanted to hug him but settled for explaining the situation instead.
"When did you make these?" Leo asked, looking suspicious. I didn't want to admit that I hadn't slept, so I replied vaguely, "Oh, you know, here and there." Leo narrowed his eyes but dropped it.
-Time skip-
Finding Annabeth and Percy snuggled up together in the stables was just the cherry on top of my emotional sundae. I pictured myself in Percy's arms but quickly slapped on a mask of amusement. "You're so dead," I joked, while my heart did its best impression of a sad violin.
Later in the dining hall, I munched on an apple, trying to ignore my sleeplessness. That night I couldn't sleep again, so I just spent the night punching my bag and training with the automatons I had programmed. I wore a jacket to hide the scars and added a cream I made for my hands.
When Percy spilled the beans about Nico, I had to choke back tears. Nico was like the brother I never had, and here he was, in trouble again. I couldn't show any weakness, not now. But inside, I was a mess.
Then Percy told everybody about Nico. Nico was the person that you most trusted at camp. both of you weren't popular, and he was so understanding. You choked back tears. You couldn't show weakness. Not now. Not ever. You were lost in thought until Hazel said: "How can you be so heartless!!??" "I'm just being realistic" Jason answered. "He knew about both camps. How can we trust him?" You stood up. "Jason, if you don't trust him, you don't trust me either. And is not trusting him, or not being sure of his allegiance enough to leave him to rot that way? That is simply cruel." you took a deep breath, "He knew that if he said anything about the other camp, there would be war, and we didn't last a day, did we? He's gone through a lot. He's always been an outcast because he was the son of Hades. We are going to help him." Jason looked chastened, but he said definitely: "What if he betrays us?" You wanted to slap him in the face for that. But you reined in most of your anger. Most. You started smoking. You calmed yourself enough to stop that steam. Then you said: "I very much doubt that. And if it comes to it, Piper can charm speak, and we have cells."
Then I zoned out again. "Young lady you are grounded" Coach Hedge was talking to Annabeth. "I'll go," I said. "Coach, you should stay here. I'll go with Frank and Percy" I quickly saved them. "Hmmmm... I trust you," he said. "Sis, don't do anything stupid," Leo said, glancing at Percy. "I'll take that with a hefty pinch of salt coming from you." you shot back "Ouch," he said. feigning hurt.
Then it hit me. I was going on a mission with Percy, my crush. Immediate regret washed over me. But there was no backing out now.
As we prepared to leave, a woman named Esther offered to drive us. I didn't trust her, but we went along with it anyway. "There's this famous aquarium," she suggested. Percy shrugged, and I agreed to go along.
"Anybody got money?" Percy asked. "Yeah, I grabbed some just in case," I replied, always prepared for a city trip.
Then we met Kate, who led us into what was obviously a trap. But hey, what's a little danger in the life of a demi-god?i
Percy, ever so subtle, asked Kate straight up if she knew the god Phorcys. "He's my brother," she revealed. So much for subtlety.
- Timeskip cause I'm lazy -
As Keto led Frank away, I exchanged looks with Percy. "So, what do you know about the twins" Percy asked. I mentally cursed him for being so direct. "Yes," I quickly intervened "The god Bachus sent us here, Because you are such a powerful god. One of the oldest and wisest ever, right Percy?" "Right," He quickly said.
But it was too late. She announced we were "Very Important Prisoners" and shoved us into a tank. I flailed around, unable to swim, until Percy conjured an air bubble around us. "You ok?" he asked. I nodded, grateful for the air.
"We need to find Frank," Percy said. As the bubble dissipated, I started to struggle again, and Percy quickly conjured it back. "I can't swim," I admitted. Percy instructed me to grab his hand and move my legs. We made our way to a crystal wall, where we saw Frank with Kate.
Knowing what I had to do, I indicated to Percy to get back. I took out my gun and loaded a bullet designed to shatter crystal. Sleepless nights do have their perks.
I shattered the wall, hit Kate on the head with my gun, and we all ran for it. Just another day in the life of a demi-god, right?
A/N: So, what do you think until now???? Please be honest and if there are any requests then I'm open for ideas!
