Perspective of Giyuu Tomioka
"Ugh." I uttered as I looked around, my surroundings were the damn void. I slowly stood up and started to check if I could walk safely.
After a few tries, I was able to safely walk across the void. I was perhaps dreaming or in a different reality, I didn't know. I continued to walk for some time until I heard some crying.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." The shaking and terrified voice said. I walked closer to the sound of crying and found a younger me. He seemed abused and malnourished. When he saw me, he curled up to a ball.
"What's wrong?" I asked as I knelt down to the child's level. I didn't really remember my childhood nor did I care.
"N-nothing, m-mister." The child stuttered while he answered. He wiped his tears and looked away. "What are you doing here?" He asked me.
"Nothing really." I answered and sat down beside him. "Wish to tell me what's wrong?" I asked as I tried to see his face by grabbing his hand in a gentle and calm way.
"W-well, n-nothing really h-happened. J-just hun-gry and it-it's c-cold." The child answered as he removed his hand from his face. He looked exactly like me when I was younger.
"Oh, okay." I said. I patted his head and stared at the groundless floor, it felt so familiar yet unfamiliar.

"Ow! S-stop! I didn't break the vase, d-don't hit me! It wasn't me!" A child looked like around six or seven said as he tried to defend himself by curling up into a ball and placing his hands over his head."Then, tell me. Who did it?" A male around his 20s asked while he raised a fist in the air. His hand had blood on them.
"Y-your cat!" The child said as he continued to try to defend and protect himself from the hits of the elder man.
"I don't have a damn cat. You're like your mother, a liar." The man said as he started to hit the child. The male didn't have any compassion, affection and care for the child.
Blood oozed out of the child's head, making the child feel light-headed as he tried to not to let his tears fall. He didn't want his uncle to worsen the abuse he had already been getting. He wanted this to end, he wanted to live with his elder sister or have a peaceful life. The child had coughed up blood, staining the blue yukata of the man.
"You damn child! You better wash this!" The elder male said as he continued to hit the to younger male.

"Oh, I pity you, dear child." I said. That was my only reply before hearing some voices."-ka! -mioka! Tomioka!" I heard someone say as I opened my eyes. I sat upright on my futon and looked at Kocho. I rubbed my eyes as I coughed, did I catch a cold?
"Where have you been? You haven't left your estate for days now." She told me, looking worried.
I gave a nod and stared at my lap. "Is that so?" I said as I looked up at the ceiling, my head hurts. "Did something happen?" I added as I continued to stare at the ceiling, trying to make the headache go away.
"No but you have missed five meetings ans Oyakata-sama is very worried." Kocho said. "You're lucky that it wasn't important. Also, Shinazugawa is quite angry at you, be hopeful that he wouldn't break down your door to yell at you."
I stayed silent, thinking about the things that I could have done over that days I had been asleep. "Thank you for informing me, Kocho." I said as I looked at her. "Can you please leave? I want to have some alone time." I asked her.
She gave an annoyed smiled as she stood up. "Tomioka-san, it's rude to kick someone out of your home." She said.
I stared at her blankly. "You broke into my house." I replied to her as I stood up and brushed off the dust that was on my haori and uniform.
Kocho stayed silent and both of us stared at each other before she walked away and left my estate. I yawned and left my estate as well, going to the field of grass that I had been training.

When I arrived in the field of grass, I saw Shinazugawa and the other hashiras having a picnic. I didn't know but they at least could have asked me if I wanted to join them."Tomioka-san!!! Over here!" Kanroji said. It seemed that she was joyful for something.
"Did you receive our invitation from your crow?""It's quite nice of you to accept our invitation, Tomioka." Rengoku chimed in. They really looked happy that I came.
I stood there, I didn't come here to join their picnic. I was here to train but it seemed that I came at the wrong time.
"Finally, you bastard. Do you actually think that it was necessary to not go to the meetings?" Shinazugawa told me as he stood up and walked over to me.
"Shinazugawa, leave him alone! Your behavior is not for those who have the highest rank - Hashira - in the organization; You're acting like a child." Himejima chimed in. I got lucky.
"Come now! Did you bring anything?" Rengoku asked me. I gulped and shook my head.
"As expected." Iguro said. "He's really an arrogant and selfish bastard."
I stared at them, it wasn't my fault that my crow didn't inform me or the factor that my crow was old. I looked at my lap.
"I came here to train actually." I said in a quiet tone. "I didn't know that there's a picnic here. I don't mind not eating though."
"That's quite unflashy, Tomioka. You should eat, even though you didn't bring anything." Uzui said. I gulped and fidget with my pants.
"Sorry..." I apologized as I stared at the food. I didn't really want to be a burden towards them, I didn't even accept their invitation. In other words, I just barged into their picnic. I didn't take a bite and just sat down at the edge of the picnic blanket.
I could hear Shinazugawa and Iguro whisper some horrible things about me.

That was awkward, at least they didn't question why I didn't eat any. I sighed and walked back to the water estate. I got stopped by Shinazugawa and Iguro, I tripped as I stopped walking, my right foot was placed on a rock that was round enough for me to get tripped."Where do you think you're going?" Shinazugawa asked.
"The Water Estate." I answered.
"Well, let us help you stand up." Obanai said as he let out his hand for him to grab it as I slipped while walking towards the water estate.
I nodded and stood up without doing anything. "Thank for the assistance." I thanked them, bowed my head and started to the water estate.
