Man, I really hope this works out, I thought. I parked my truck and got out. I went over to Sammi's side and opened the car door.
"Come here, girl," I told her. She didn't move. I sighed and scooped her into my arms. I guess I'll just have to carry her.
I carried her until we got to the playground. I looked around, searching for a spot to drop her off. My eyes then spotted the perfect place.
The gazebo! That would be perfect for Sammi until I get her later after school.
The blue and white gazebo was in fairly decent condition despite not being used in years. It wasn't the biggest but it definitely wasn't the smallest. The only problem with it was that the paint was flaking off of it. Other than that, it was okay.
I walked over to it and inspected it. There wasn't anything out of the ordinary so I sat Sammi down and told her to stay.
"I'll be right back, I promise." I stroked her hair. She purred. I went back to my truck and got all the blankets and pillows.
After going back to the gazebo, I began making her a makeshift bed to lay on. I stacked all the blankets on top of each other, leaving her one extra one to cover herself if needed. I placed some pillows on it.
"There you go, girl," Sammi curled on the blankets. I ran back to my truck and got out her two bowls, a water bottle, and a bag of cat food.
I sat the bowls down near the wall of the gazebo. Unscrewing the lid off of the bottle, I poured the water into one of the bowls. Now she'll have water when she's thirsty. I opened the brand new back of cat food and poured some into the other bowl. Okay, now she won't starve.
I examined the view in front of me, trying to think of what could go wrong. A lot of things could. She could run away. She could get kidnapped. She could be attacked by animals. There were plenty more terrible things that could happen. Having no other choice, I had to leave her here, despite not wanting to.
I scratched Sammi's head one last time. "It's going to be okay, girl. Just stay here. I'll be back in a few hours. Please stay here. Goodbye. I love you, Sammi."
I began to walk back to my truck. I made the mistake of looking back at her. She looked so sad and afraid. She never liked it when I left. I turned back around and continued walking.
I finally made it back to my truck. I got in, buckling up and started it. I turned the radio on, hoping it'll calm my nerves. It didn't. I was too scared for Sammi.
