I could hear breathing... a grunt of sorts? I didn't dare open my eyes.
My entire body ached, like it was sore, but in very specific parts of my body. Once I noticed the continuous pinch and something weaving through my neck, I realized it couldn't be from anything good. I managed to keep myself still as someone thread stitches through my neck and shoulders, seemingly in a circle. The more stitches that went through my neck, the heavier my shoulder became.
Were they sewing something onto my shoulder?
Where was I last?
The last thing I remember was being in the medical tent with Geoff... I took him with me so he could get some fresh air, and hopefully to give him something to do that wasn't thinking about Bridgette. We needed to pick up supplies for Gwen's broken leg. I remember Geoff looking under the beds near the entrance while I went straight to the back to look in the cabinets.
I didn't find anything but I don't remember...
Oh, because Geoff...
Geoff.
The moment I realized, the pinch in my neck stopped. My shoulder was heavy, and if I wasn't so big, it would probably pull me on my side.
I couldn't hear footsteps, so I waited a few moments before I dared to even peek in front of me. Thankfully, I didn't see any sign of whatever was causing the pinch, but I did see blood. It soaked my shirt and trickled down my pants, creating a pool on the floor below me.
I tried moving one of my arms to help me get up, but I couldn't move it. I opened my eyes wider as I tried to look at my right arm, but was met with a face instead. I glanced down to see bloodied stitching attaching Geoff's head to my shoulder.
"Geoff...?" I whispered, though it was barely heard by even me. I sat there in total shock.
What the hell am I supposed to do?
My left arm, which seemed to be my own, reached to feel my right one. I looked the other direction as I felt a sting around the shoulder... but the arm was muscular, unlike the squishy one I'm used to.
Oh my...
I whipped my head around and saw Geoff hadn't moved a muscle. I called his name louder. I tried moving his head with my arm. I called his name again and again.
Geoff... Geoff... Geoff... Geoff... Geoff...
He didn't move.
I took a deep breath before grabbing hold of his hair and softly twisting his face towards mine.
He was long gone.
His eyes had lost all of their spark. Blood spilled from his neck and forehead, and when I looked down, I realized I couldn't tell who's blood was who's.
I wanted to throw up, but I couldn't do that to Geoff. I needed to eat, but I can't face the pain of walking outside like this. I was meant to die anyway... but maybe... just maybe someone will realize we're missing.
I have no idea how long it's been, but I'm trying to keep my mind off of what happened... I'm just sitting here. I'm trying not to physically sob as every few moments I'm overcome with pain and agony.
My stomach grumbles between my cries.
But I can't live like this... I can't-
"Owen?" I heard Izzy yell from outside the tent, "Geoff?" A wave of emotions hit me... relief, fear, and dread. Part of me wanted to hide, but at the same time, it's Izzy! She's not going to be afraid of me! I'm sure she's done creepier stuff than this. Once she walked in though, I realized how wrong I was. She just stared at me.
"Izzy, you gotta help me." I spoke, though it trailed off into a whisper. She seemed hesitant... she wanted to step forward, but she also clearly wanted to leave. She didn't blink. She just stared at what I had become. At what Geoff and I had become, "Please...?"
She opened her mouth to speak... then she started to quickly shake her hand, which seemed like a nervous tic. She blinked fast before shaking her head. She slowed down to mouth the word "sorry" before running off.
I'm dead.
There's no way I'm not.
In days I'm going to die of dehydration, or maybe within a few hours I'll die of blood loss.
I'm dead.
I'm sorry Geoff, I shouldn't of volunteered us...
I shouldn't of volunteered you.
