"Eryn" a voice whispered

"GOD!" I jumped picking up my broom and pointing it in the direction of the noise "Annabeth don't scare me like that" I said placing my hand on my heart once I realised it was her "You literally gave me a heart attack"

"I'm sorry" she replied genuinely , stepping into a lighter part of the basement

"How did you even get down here anyway? You would've had to go past Devon at the till and he doesn't let anyone down here."

"I snuck past" she shrugged, tucking a blue cap into her jacket pocket "I just need to give you something before I go" she said reaching into her jacket pocket again, but this time pulling out a slip of paper. "It's almost summer and there's a ... summer camp , of sorts, that I think that you'd really enjoy." She smiled handing me the bit of paper

"Camp half-blood? It sounds like a cult." I stated staring at the paper in confusion

"No, not a cult.  A summer camp for people like you." She replied with a smile

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked raising an eyebrow and placing the broom back down to give her my full attention

"You will find out, soon. I promise. Percy , Grover and I will all be there." Annabeth urged trying to convince me further

"I hate to disappoint but i'm not much of a people person" I said handing the slip of paper back to her "And the chances of me leaving this shop are very slim. Foster care and all that." That part was true , Devon was too afraid that i'd rat him out so I couldn't leave the shop too far.

"How old are you?" Annabeth questioned passing the paper back to me

"17"

"Wait you're 17?!" she asked again shocked. Do I look that old?

"Yeahh. Wait I'm confused , is that a problem?" I asked "Too old for your little summer camp maybe?"

"Not at all"

"Annabeth!"

"What is it with you guys?!" I shouted looking at Percy who had just come through the basement door with Grover

"Nothing against you DJ, just waiting for Annabeth" Percy smiled sarcastically

"Well you don't need to wait much longer sunshine" I replied with an equal amount of sarcasm

"I like you" Grover smirked walking over , putting an arm around my shoulder and reading the slip of paper in my hands "Camp Half-Blood. Great place , they throw some of the best parties and we could use a new DJ , our last one went a bit rouge."

"I don't DJ" I laughed looking towards him. Just because I work in a music shop does not mean that I can DJ.

"Percy here loves music" he nudged , giving me a suggestive look.

"I'm sure he does" I replied amused.

"I'm sure I do." Percy said rolling his eyes "Can we go now?" Percy groaned turning to Annabeth

"You're so impatient" Annabeth sighed "Think about it. Please." she begged before she followed the two boys out of the basement.

What a crazy bunch of people.

"Is it clean down there yet!" Devon yelled from the shop floor "Teenagers and their parties" he lied and laughed to the customers he was serving.

"Yes" I said putting on a fake smile as I came through the exit to the basement.

"Next time don't make such of a mess. It was like an explosion went off down there" he spoke gripping my shoulder tightly , shaking me around slightly.

"Mhm"

"My son used to be quite the rebel too" the middle woman at the counter contributed

"How did you straighten him out?" Devon responded , pinching the skin on my neck tight enough to bruise it.

"Sent him to a boarding school. Those are the best fix." she said waving her boney finger in my face.

"Have a nice day" I interjected before Devon could reply , handing the woman her bag full of old CD's and walking up the stairs to my room.

Annabeth is right it's only 2 weeks until schools break up for summer. Surely i could get out of the house for a couple days , it's only at Long Island.
