Severus Snape
Monday Morning
Severus Snape was quite sure he was struggling with resting adoration face. He could not help it. For this universe contained her and that contented him. How she had transformed from a student he would barely think twice on into the centre of his universe overnight was truly remarkable. A marvel.
Madelyn, Madelyn, Madelyn, his, his, his. What a stroke of luck to wake up in love with the perfect someone, and to have them love you back without reservation. What had seemed a curse was truly a blessing indeed, and now he felt silly for all his whinging. For now he had the most lovely creature eternally bound to him. He just had to get through breakfast without kissing her. Difficult, but within his capabilities.
How pretty she was to him now. He would feel unworthy if it were not for the way her eyes sparkled at him. Deidre had said she would exchange some of his maturity and she was right, she had fairly blossomed during their slumber, there was a change in her. He was so eager to get to know her, he must have asked her a hundred questions while she tried to eat breakfast. Suddenly he needed to know everything from her favourite colour to the kind of breakfast foods she favoured.
He could tell his mate was not without some anxiety regarding their very public new bond. He was asking rapid fire questions and her eyes darted to the students regularly, watchfully. As far as the entire school was concerned she had had sex with him this weekend, and he was incredibly aware that would mean something different for her than it did for him. She was being brave for now, but he worried the little shits would wear her down. Then he worried about ending up in Azkaban for punching some little shit in the throat for saying something vile. He resolved to attempt to let her fight her own battles before he started punching students.
After breakfast he walked her up to her charms class. When they rounded the corner there was music coming from the classroom. "Do you hear the music too, or is it playing in my mind because you make me so happy?" He whispered playfully flirtatious as he had been all morning, unable to stop himself from doing so.
"It's Flitwick's Musical Mondays..." She adorably hid her embarrassed face. He pulled her into a side hall, waiting for the other students to be gone.
"May I have a dance? Put your feet on mine." He told her.
"What? No!" She laughed in protest, pulling away in that light hearted way women do when they want to be pulled back in.
"Come now, don't disappoint me," he smiled, growling the words low into her ear and she complied with a spark of excitement in her eyes. Like he had this morning, he used a slight levitation charm on her, then held her firmly against him as he began dancing her around the hallway. He knew how to dance, a side effect of a short term friendship with the Malfoys. Those years were long over, but he still enjoyed a good turn around the dance floor with the right woman. Her laughter was a music of its own as he twirled her around the hallway.
"Severus!" She squealed when he dipped her and kissed her, the end of the hallway leaving them open to observation by passing students.
"I fear hearing you say my name is not a very good deterrant, little mate."
"Let me go, everyone is arriving! Think of your reputation," she pleaded.
"On the contrary, I think this adds notoriety," he smiled before spinning her once more up and down the hallway in his arms. God, did she ever belong there. Filius arrived, following the trail of stares and open mouths of his students as they passed by and arrived in his class.
"I say, old chap! Didn't know you were a dancer. Now... My class is about to begin and so is yours . I must confiscate this person to be taught charms. Shoo," he laughed playfully.
