Chapter 2 The story

June, 16, 2004

This can't be happening my mom can't have cancer! Moms the only thing I have left I can't loose her too. I already lost dad please not her too.

Gavin could see the distress in my eyes because he walked over and hugged me. "Don't touch me." I snapped! I ran out of the hospital room and down the hall. While Gavin was calling my name.

Once in the hall I ran out the front doors and down the street. As I'm running in the rain. I see something shining in my eye from drain. I pick it up and it's a blade of some sorts.

I go back to the hospital and head to the bathroom. I wash it off not knowing exactly what it is. I slide it into my pocket and walk out of the bathroom.

Gavin comes running towards me and almost pushes me over. "Where have you been?" He scolds me. "I went for a walk." I snap.

He looks at his shoes and starts crying.
"No I don't mean to" he cuts me off.

"Mom tried to hang on but s-she's gone. She died right in front of me. She told me to tell you that she loves you and that...that we shouldn't be scared." I hug him and he sobs in my shoulder.

We were taken to the police station to Waite for our new foster mom. It took about fifteen minutes for her to get here. when in the car she told us we have a sister and a brother at home. That's when I snapped,"No Gavin is my one and only brother and always will be." i shout

She looks down," I know I'll never be able to replace your mom. however I do want to be friends can we at least agree on that?" I nod.

When we got to the house. A girl that looked about a year smaller than Gavin and I. Was playing with chalk in the driveway.

A boy that looked about are age. Was leaning against the door frame to the house texting.

"Alex, Lizzy come hear please. This is hope and her brother gavin. their twins and their mom just died of cancer." she announces.

Gavin starts crying, "do you want to announce that our dad was abusive and left us as well." I say as I glare at her.

I run down the street. I can see that they all got in the car trying to chase me. I turn into the woods and find a clearing in the woods. I can see the car stop and they all spread out to find me. Gavin finds me right off the bat and comes with me. We run further into the woods as we come across a tree house.

A few hours later someone is claiming up the ladder. It appears to be the boy Alex. He smiles at us. "I used to hide up here two when I was upset. I would just sit here and think about what was upsetting me." He smiles at me and asks Gavin if he is ready to go home. he nods.

He looks at me with sadness in his eyes. "I'm guessing your not quite ready. I lost my mom two. she died in a car wreck."

I look at him. he has dark brown hair with bright blue eyes, and fair skin. I can't help my self but look into his eyes. he shows sadness from the memory of his mom.

"I'm sorry that happened to you." I say. he looks at me "I'm sorry about your mom." he ancers.

From then on I was a pretty normal child. until I came face to face with the man I used to call my father.

February, 28, 2009

Tomorrow is Alex's birthday. He hates his birthday so I can't help myself not to get him a present! I walk into the gaming store he is turning 17. We are only six months apart. Gavin and I were born August 17.

As I walk down the Xbox isle I see a man. He was looking at boxing games. He goes to check out. I grab a game that looks good and head to check out as well. As I stand there with 'terminator' in my hand. The man turns around and I automatically recognize him. He looks at me and gasps.

As I walk out the store after I pay. I get a cab and give him my address. My dad gets in and gives him a new address and smiles at me. As the cab driver stops. he stops me as I get out. "Do I need to contact the police miss?" I nod yes and get out. I walk up into the dark apartment.

I can hear the sirens sound as I'm on the floor crying. My dad try's to run but they catch him and put him in cuffs. For the second time I front of me. then I am lifted into an ambulance.

I awaken in a hospital room. Only Gavin and Lizzy are in there. Gavin notices and smiles. "How long have I been out?" Two weeks he ancers frowning. "Where's Alex?", I ask and Gavin smiles.

"Once he Hurd he was the first one in hear he refused to leave. the paramedics brought in the game you bought. All Alex could do was look at the game lost in thought. He felt bad you were hurt because of him. he's probably getting coffee now. he has barely left your side since you got in here." Then he just smiled at me as Alex walked in.
