Jennifer rescheduled her flight for a week later than it originally was booked for, one reason was being she wasn't discharged until the day of the flight and the second reason was that Link' wanted to make sure her arm was setting correctly before he sent all her files over to the orthopaedic doctor in Chicago. Not that Jennifer was complaining, she wasn't able to go back to work for another 6 weeks now so she was going to be on desk duty or she could see if she could help intelligence seeing as she couldn't actually go into fires and save lives.
It was going to be a long day and Jennifer knew that, that's why she had a cup of coffee when she woke up that morning. It was 7am and Meredith was going to drive her to the airport after they had some lunch and just spent some time together. Jennifer was worried about going back Chicago, she didn't want to fall into the dark place she was heading towards before her trip to Seattle, she was scared to go to her apartment because of all the memories but she did know that she only had a few months before she was back in Seattle for a weekend to look at apartments with Andy and Vic, she was also going to be talking to Maya a lot as well as everyone. But Jennifer and Maya had gotten really close since they slept together, of course they hadn't said they were together or anything they were just friends with benefits but who knows what the future will hold for the pair of them.
"I'm going to miss you Auntie Jen!" Zola sighed as Jennifer sat beside her nibbling a slice of toast while drinking a sweet coffee.
"I'm going to miss you too Zola but I'm back for a weekend in a little over two months so I'll see you then" Jennifer smiled to the young girl.
"And by the time I move here I'll try and have learnt to do your hair in new ways so we can have a sleepover at my new place. Does that sound good to you?" Jennifer smiled to the 8 year old. Jennifer knew how much Zola wanted a sleepover with her and Abby so she thought she'd make that happen but with just her. And she did want to try to do zola's hair like the pictures Zola had showed her before, not that it would be perfect.
"Really?!" Zola asked excitedly, she had a wide smile on her face which made Jennifer smile too.
"Yes really. We can do whatever you want as well. Within reason of course" Jennifer smiled to Zola sat beside her.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you" Zola beamed happily.
Meredith took the three children to school and nursery, she left Jennifer to finish making sure she had everything packed which was difficult seeing as she had a cast on her arm. Jennifer didn't want to admit it but she was in pain still, her head was relatively fine but her arm was a completely different thought.
"T-minus 6 or so months until I'm back here permanently" Jennifer mumbled to her self as she carried her suit down to the hall and placed it in front of the door. She'd left some things behind so she didn't have to bring anything when she's here for the weekend but she also had the idea to leave stuff here so she could bring some new things when she's here for two days. The redhead brushed her hair once again and tied it up in a loose ponytail to keep it out of the way for the day, although she wasn't flying back to Chicago until four so she still technically had all day but she was spending it with Meredith, they were going to grab some lunch and then Meredith was dropping the redhead off at the airport.
