"Life can be so hard to breathe when you're trapped inside a box

You're waiting for a break to come, it always comes too late (Woah, woah)

You're on the edge, just stumbling, and the road, it starts to wind

But every time a page is turned, a chance to make it right"

I know something is wrong the moment a breath of fresh air fills my lungs. It feels like a rush surging through my chest that is pulling me from the comatose state I have been in. A thick fog has settled in my mind, blocking out every ounce of reality trying to flourish in my head.

You are not supposed to be awake.

My entire body feels numb, like there is a weight settled on top of my chest. I want to reach out and rip the weight off my chest, but I can't shake the fog and will myself to follow my command.

Open your eyes.

A faint ringing chimes in my ears and grows louder by the second. It's pushing through the fog and trying to find an entrance into my consciousness. It's slow at first, but as it grows louder, it pierces the veil and comes flooding through with no warning.

My eyes snap open as my body jolts upwards.

You are not supposed to be awake.

A sharp pain is growing in my head as it all comes rushing in. I am not supposed to be awake. If I am awake... then so is he.

I have no time to waste as I swing my legs over the edge of the altar my body has been resting on. The fresh green leaves and vines have now turned to rot underneath me as I stood. I'm uneasy on my feet and rely on the altar behind me to hold myself steady.

The ground underneath my feet is full of dirt and ash. I don't remember what this place looked like before, but I imagine it was once beautiful. The sky above me is the darkest shade of blue I have ever seen, but clear as day as I try to remember where I am. The dirt and ash below are uneven and difficult to tread across when I gather the strength to inch away from the altar.

Something causes the land to rumble, and I reach back for the altar to steady myself once again. The tingling stemming from my fingers reaches my shoulders and radiates towards my chest and back. There's no pain associated with it, but it feels strange as it quickly spreads.

"This can't be happening," I mutter.

The ground rumbles again, but I know the longer I stay put, the more time I'm wasting. There is no telling how long he's been awake or how much damage he's already created.

The only thing I know I can do right now is to find her, and that very well may be impossible. I don't know how much time has passed since she sealed me here, but she's the only person I know can assist me with this problem. Yet, I don't know if she has survived with the toll taken on her body. After all, she used almost all of her magic to bond us together and keep him from destroying their planet.

All I can do is try.

The ground rumbles violently as I pull my hand from the altar, taking steps forward as the dark blue sky transforms. Sounds of echoes bounced in my head as the ringing chimed viciously.

I scan the area, trying to remember where I am, but all I see is the dirt, ash, and the altar. Maybe this is all in my head. No. It is impossible. I stumble on my feet as the ground cracks. A large split forms underneath my feet and somehow, I forget how to move and feel glued in this exact spot. I turn on my feet to reach the altar, but the ground caves and I go plummeting through the split.
