Chapter 1: Sparks

Midtown: 8:30 AM
An armored bank truck came speeding through the streets with eight squad cars on its tail, the truck hits another car causing it to flip and go flying at a crowd of people before suddenly webs appeared underneath the car, catching it mid air, soon after Spider-Man swung overhead as he landed on the truck, "Hey guys is this the bus to Little Italy?" Spidey joked as one of the men stuck half their body out the window, "Ah shit it's the Spider!" He said as he aimed a gun at Spidey before he webbed the gun out of his hand, "Hey! Guns aren't for kids!" Spidey mocked as he swung through the window into the truck as he used a web to pull the thug in the passenger seat face into the dashboard knocking him, "That's gonna hurt in the morning!" Spidey mocked as he webbed the other thugs to the steering wheel as he also webbed down the brake causing the truck to slow down, "Oh motherfu-" thug (Played by Aaron Paul) was cut off by his mouth being webbed shut, "Hey! There are children nearby!" Spidey said before taking the thug's mask off and seeing his world's Max Dillon, "Max! How have you been? I've missed you man! Hey behavior when you're in jail!" Spidey said before swinging away as cops closed in around the truck and found a note, on the thug who was webbed to the wheel, that read 'You lost a mighty big wallet' Officer Yuri Watanabe read before she looked up as she saw Spider-Man swinging off doing a trick mid-air before disappearing behind some buildings.

Peter landed on a roof before checking his phone, "What time is- 9 o'clock?! Shit not again!" Peter exclaimed as he put his phone away before swinging off.

Empire State University, 9:30 AM
Peter ran into his biochem class as he tried fixing his hair, that now reached the top of his neck, but failed and it remained a mess due to his mask, he had a faint bruise above his eyebrow. "Mr. Parker! You're late... Again." Professor Miles Warren said sternly, usually Peter's other professors wouldn't question or point out that Peter was late because they thought it was more of his problem but Professor Warren, as Peter put it, 'liked to ride his ass'
Peter looked at the professor as he spoke, "Peter, since you missed the beginning of class, we've been rearranging lab partners. Your previous partner Mr. Osborn is now working with Ms. Brent, you will now be working with Ms. Bishop." Warren stated as Peter nodded and walked towards the lab where Kate was seated as he sat down next to her. Kate looked at Peter as he sat next to her as she reached her hand out for a handshake, "I'm Kate." Kate said with a smile as Peter smiled back softly and shook a hand, "I'm Peter, Parker, Peter Parker." Peter said awkwardly as she giggled, "Bishop, Kate, Kate Bishop." Kate said like she was James Bond but then cringed at her own joke, "That sounded way better in my head, sorry." Kate said with an embarrassed giggle, "No no I love Mission Impossible great moves, Mr. Bond." Peter said with a chuckle as he did a bad British accent at the end which caused Kate to giggle and smile as her and Peter looked at each other almost in an admiring way which did not go unnoticed by Harry who saw the two. "Mr. Parker! Ms. Bishop! Please don't make me have to separate you two so soon." Warren said before continuing to write on the board in front of the class, "Right, sorry Professor." Peter before smirking to himself as he thought to himself 'She is really pretty and funny... Wait! Stop thinking like that! You literally just met her!' meanwhile Kate smiled and brushed her hair behind her ear as she blushed slightly which Peter noticed causing him to do the same, meanwhile Kate thought to herself 'He is really handsome and funny... Kinda messy though... Hold on Kate you literally just met him! He does seem a little familiar though.' Kate finished her thought as class continued.

After class was over Peter and Harry walked out of class talking about something that Kate couldn't make out as she was approaching them, "Hey Peter!" Kate said as she got Peter and Harry's attention as Harry smirked at Peter before walking away. "Hey Kate, what's up?" Peter asked as she smiled at him, "So Professor Warren made us partners on the gene project, so I was thinking maybe tomorrow night you could come by my place and we could work on it? Or I could come by yours?" Kate asked with hesitation and some awkwardness which reminded Peter of himself when he was younger and still starting as Spider-Man in high school. Peter soon cleared his thoughts as he looked at her and nodded, "Um yea- yeah, that works, totally, works since I'm... Busy... Tonight." Peter said as the pauses caused Kate to be slightly suspicious of Peter's plans but didn't question it, "Awesome! I mean cool, cool, works out for me too because I'm busy tonight too." Kate said with a nod as Peter smiled at her causing her to smile at him as well, "Cool sounds like a plan." Peter said with a smile as Kate smiled back, "Yeah sounds like a date." Kate said catching Peter off guard as he blushed and she realized what she just said, "Not that it's a DATE date- not saying that I wouldn't want too-" Kate said before stopping herself, "Yeah I totally get it, see you then." Peter said with a smile before slowly backing away as Kate smiled, "Yeah, see you then." Kate said with a smile as she slowly walked away as well.
