Chapter 2: Short Circuit

Peter began to wake up as he noticed the sun peeking through the window, but Peter noticed that he wasn't in a familiar environment and he realized that he wasn't in his apartment. Peter felt his face as he realized his mask wasn't on before he shot up quickly and looked around the apartment as he saw a target set with arrows in it meanwhile his memories from the previous night were beginning to set in. "Before you freak out! I didn't do anything weird and I'm not telling anyone your identity! And I took your mask off because you had a head injury!" Kate said as she walked into the room with two cups of hot chocolate and a plate with eggs, bacon, and toast as she sat a cup on the table in front of Peter as she sat next to him, "How are you feeling? Are you hungry? I thought you might be hungry." Kate said as she looked at him and smiled as he rubbed his head, "Thanks... What happened last night?" Peter asked trying to concentrate but was having a hard time due to his minor concussion and the fact he noticed how pretty her was but he stopped that thought in its tracts, or at least tried too. "We were fighting meth addicted Zeus and we beat him but you got hurt and you said no hospitals, so I brought you here." Kate responded as Peter began eating as Kate watched him for a minute, "So how did you get powers? Do you think I could get powers like you?" Kate questioned as Peter quickly looked at her, "Trust me, you don't want these powers. They came with a responsibility and they came with a cost." Peter said as he went back to eating, "Do-do- do you care if I ask what happened?" Kate asked as she saw Peter hesitate and felt more curious but slightly guilty, "Well I did save your life so you owe me something... Maybe not everything, but something... I-I-I- I want to get to know you more..." Kate said shyly causing Peter and her both to blush, "You know, since we're working to take down Fisk." Kate said trying to cover her tracks but Peter had gotten good at picking up on people covering their tracks. Peter hesitated for a moment but gave in to her as he looked at her puppy dog eyes that he noticed had a sparkle to them, a sparkle he noticed in himself when he was first starting. "Fine, okay just stop with the puppy dog eyes." Peter said as Kate smiled at him brightly as she sat up and criss-crossed her legs as Peter began to explain his life's story.

Harry walked into the Osborn family mansion (the one used to the Sam Raimi movies) as he walked through the mansion as he walked into Norman's office, Harry noticed that Norman was talking to Wilson Fisk which caused Harry to stop dead in his tracks.
"Wilson, I'm not sure that our recent... Experiments... Would look good for your mayoral campaign, after all the Hell's Kitchen Dev-" Norman stopped mid sentence as he looked at Harry, "Harry! What are you doing in here? Don't you know that I'm in a meeting?" Norman said forcing a smile as he got up and took Harry by the shoulder walking him out of the room, "Sorry Dad, I didn't know-" Harry was cut off as he was being walked out of the room, "Well now you know." Norman said sternly, "Hey, what experiments were you talking about?" Harry questioned as Norman was now forced to create another lie, "Oh just experimental armors and weapons for bodyguards and military." Norman lied as Harry looked at him still confused and suspicious of if he was telling the truth or not, "Now I must finish my meeting, I'll see you soon son." Norman said as he walked back into his office.

"Apologies." Norman said closing the door behind as he sat back down at his desk, "No worries, I've never had a son but I understand the curiosity of children." Fisk replied as he looked at Norman, "But he isn't a child, he's an adult in college." Norman responded bitterly referring to his son but Fisk decided to drop the subject. "Now, where were we?" Norman said as he leaned back in his chair as Fisk did the same, "I want more super powered criminals, this 'Electro' incident, has proven to be beneficial but dangerous, I want Dillon taken out, he's too dangerous to the city but I want someone easier to control." Fisk explained as Norman thought for a moment, "People like Max Dillon can be bargained with and controlled." Norman retorted as Fisk looked out the window then at Norman, "Well if you were running things then you could try to 'negotiate' with him, but you aren't therefore, I want him taken out. Get it done Norman. I want another one immediately. Norman, I also want that alien you found studied and put to use, see what makes it tick." Fisk stated as he stood up walking out of Norman's office as Norman stared at the wall blankly.
