(A/N: Just wanted to add this in, the next three chapters are just of y/n settling into the story with Jenny, Tubbs and Poppernak and a few other characters before she gets introduced to Beau Arlen. I did this just to show a bit of her character and how she interacts with the others before doing the pair up. Hopefully, the wait to met Sheriff Beau will be worth it. I'll also say that this show is pretty good and if drama cop shows are your thing, go and watch it. All three seasons are on Hulu if you have that subscription.)

"Okay, Mrs. Whitlock...sign on this line here" the lawyer said. "It's Miss (l/n)..." I growled as I give a side eye glare to my now ex-husband, James, who sits next to me as we sit in front of the divorce lawyer. "And gladly." I said as I take the divorce paper and sign my name on it. "Okay, Mr Whitlock...." The lawyer said as he moved the papers to James and he takes it and signs it.

"Alright. You two are now officially divorced." The lawyer said and I sighed. "Good. I'm out." I said as I stand up, grab my purse and leave the room. I walk outside and give a heavy sigh then dig into my purse for my keys. "Did you really have to act like a child?" James asked me as he comes up to me.

I turn my head to him, in disbelief. "Are you serious? After what you did to me and you're calling me a child?!" I exclaimed, angrily. "All of this happened because of you!" James said and I grit my teeth. "Oh, yeah, I'm the one who told you to go screw that bitch in our bed, in our house!" I shouted. "That happened because you completely ignored me! You were always working, had your nose in the cases you were given! So, again, this is your fault just like what happened to Liam." James said and I slap him across the face.

He stumbled back and stared at me in shock as I glare at him, my eyes filling with tears. "Don't ever talk to me or come near me again, you bastard!" I said, in a harsh whisper, then I head to my car, getting inside of it. Once inside, I turn the engine on and drive off. As I drive down the road, I take some deep breathes as tears run down my face.

Minutes later, I make it to my apartment and make my way inside then head to my bedroom and collapse on my bed. I bury my face into my pillow and let out a tearful scream into it.

That had been a few months ago and ever since the divorce, I've done nothing but work then go home. I've been feeling like a zombie, just going through life, and that's not me but everywhere I go this city just brings up bad memories and I just don't really want to go out or I'm gonna break down. I really need to get out of this city.

"You know, you could always move here." My old friend, Jenny Hoyt, suggests to me as we talk over the phone and I tell her about my problems. "Back to Helena?" I asked her. "I know it's not as glamorous as the big city but..." she said until I finished her sentence. "It's home." I said, chuckling a bit. "Yeah, and it would be nice to see you again." She said and I smiled.

"Look, I got a friend in real estate that can help you get a house or an apartment here for a decent price." She said and I laugh. "You're too good to me, Jenny. How can I ever repay you?" I asked. "By coming to work with me." Jenny said and my eyes widen. "Seriously? You sure your boss would be okay with that? I mean, I think he'd want to burn down the station after we work together." I teased and Jenny laughs.

"I'll talk to him but only if you move here." She said and I think. "You drive a hard bargain, Miss Hoyt. And I do miss the mountains and that small town feel...sure, I'll move there." I said. "Great! I'll give you the number to my friend and you can get started." Jenny said and she gives me the number.

So for the next couple of weeks, I had been on the phone with the real estate agent to find a home there, then finding a moving truck and had my brother come and help me. Finally, the day came when I was able to load up all my stuff into the truck, thanks to the help of my brother and one of our friends.
