That Old Feeling

*3rd Person POV*

"We gotta find Buck." Beau said, firmly. "We're on it." Jenny said. "Avery? No, I need to get through." A voice said and Beau looks over to see it was Carla, an officer holding her back. "Beau?" She calls out. "Ma'am, please. You can't go in there." The officer said.

"Oh, no." Beau mutters and he goes over to them as Carla argues. "I'm not leaving. I'm staying right here." Carla said to the officer. "Hey, hey, hey, hey. It's okay." Beau tells the officer and he nods and walks away. "Oh, my God." Carla cries and she embraces Beau.

"Alright. Okay." He whispers to her. "What's happening?" She cries. "I'm sorry." Beau whispers then he pulls back from the embrace, tears streaming down Carla's face. "Hey. Hey. You need to know that Avery was doing everything he could to fix this mistake of his, okay? He was trying to save Emily." Beau tells her.

"Where is she now?" She asked and Beau stays silent as he struggles to find the right words. "Beau?" She asked and Beau sighs. "We think that Buck Barnes has her." He tells her. "Oh. Oh, my God." Carla cries as she places her hands over her face. "Hey, listen to me, I'm gonna find her. I'm gonna bring her back, I promise you." Beau assures her and he hugs her as she cries into his shoulder.

"Okay, thanks." (Y/n) said into her phone then she goes over to Beau. "Hey, got something." She tells him and Beau pulls out of the embrace and looks down at Carla. "Give me one minute, okay?" He said. "Okay." she said and Beau and (y/n) walk away as (y/n) talks.

"State just called. Buck was spotted north of here. He killed someone and stole their truck." (Y/n) said. "My daughter?" Beau asked her. "The surveillance footage suggests that he's still got Emily and Denise. Beau, I think they're still alive." She tells him.

"Okay. I'm gonna call Cass. I want her on this with us. Let's move." He said and they all head out.

*(y/n)'s POV*

"Hey. I got here as quickly as I could." Cassie said as she inters the conference room at the station as we stare at the projection screen that was playing the surveillance footage. "Are you sure it's Buck?" Cassie asked.

"Take a look." Jenny said and she rewinds the footage and play it to see Buck carrying a dead body. "Buck was casing the lot for a car to steal. We're guessing this unlucky guy must have heard Denise and Emily." I said while Beau shuffles and turns around in his spot.

"And they're still alive." Cassie said, hopeful, and I give a concerned look to Beau and place a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Hang on." Jenny said. "Hey. Take a look." Jenny said and we look at the footage to see something fell out of Buck's pocket.

"What is that?" I asked as Jenny rewinds it and we see something small fall out of his pocket. "There...He dropped something. Keys it looks like. Must be important." Cassie said then Jenny turns to the other officers that were in there. "Let's get the lab to enhance this." She said and the others nod.

"Maybe Cormac knows what it is." Cassie suggests. "That's a good idea, Cass. Let's hit this from every angle." Jenny said. "Meanwhile, we need to talk to Sunny again." Beau said and he walks around and start to leave while Jenny starts to walk out as well.

Cassie then grabs Beau's arm. "Hey. We're gonna get them back." She tells him and he nods and leaves while I sigh then follow them out.

Beau and I walk down the hall until Beau stops and turns to me. "It's just...It's the...It's the one...It's the one thing that we're supposed to do is protect our kids. The one thing." He says to me and I nod. "I know, Beau. But, you couldn't have done anything differently." I tell him as he shakes and places his closed fist up to his lips.
