Rinku put her hand down on the counter, a big grin on her face.

"Hello! Could we meet with the big guy?"

Rinku asked excitedly, as Tsukasa stood beside her.

They were at the Mage Guild headquarters, deciding to investigate the mystery they heard in the tavern yesterday. It seemed that the situation had been going on for a long time.

Apparently, artifacts have been disappearing from the Mage Guild's storage, but also from private collections of the citizens.

The artifacts disappeared for weeks on end, with no trace of the thief or the antique's magical properties that should've left a trail behind.

Only a tarot card was thrown onto the floor.

It usually differed between two tarot cards: The Wheel of Fortune or The Moon.

Tsukasa never understood tarot cards. His sister, Saki, usually read his fortune for fun, but he never got an understanding of it.

And when he asked Rinku, she seemed to have not known what it could've meant either.

So for now, they just wrote it down.

There were two culprits they had for now:

1. The Phantom Thief

2. It's an inside job.

But to be honest, neither helped that much. They had no idea who The Phantom Thief was, and they didn't even know if they were real.

And if it was an inside job, where would they even start??

There were probably thousands of people in the Mage Guild, so how would they find someone who stole these artifacts?

Well, could it be considered stealing if they returned it after?

Yeah, probably.

See, the most curious thing is that after an antique has been stolen, it is returned.

But when it returned, it lacked most of its magical properties. It just became a useless old thing to people.

But even if it seemed pretty hopeless, the duo didn't give up hope on finding the criminal, and in Rinku's words, 'they couldn't miss out on the adventure of their lives!'

And that's how they got here.

9:34 am, at the counter, in the main building of the Mage Guild.

Rinku was grinning at the ginger man behind the counter, looking very surprised but annoyed.

Tsukasa winced.

"...the big guy?"

The ginger asked, glancing from Rinku to Tsukasa and then back to Rinku.

"Mhm! Like, the guy who's in charge!"

Rinku nodded, the man's brows furrowing.

"Give me a second..."

The man said before he leaned back in his chair, looking to the side where Tsukasa presumed was a door.

"Oi Weronika! Are we allowed to let people up?"

The ginger exclaimed at someone on the other side of the open door.

"No! Didn't you listen to the meeting, Akito??"

The other person replied, and the man groaned.

"You didn't listen either! You only know because Haruna told you!"
