If you would've told Tsukasa a year ago, that he would be working in a kitchen under a fake name, infiltrating the Mage Guild, he would firstly ask how did you get into the castle.

Secondly, he would not believe you.

The scent of roasted beef and potatoes carried itself around the kitchen as the crown prince rethought his life choices.

Rui and Muni had, to say it lightly, very interesting food preferences.

It wasn't grand as one would expect.

It was fairly normal. So normal that their food choices made Tsukasa question why there even was an interview for the job.

For Muni, it would be a lot of...not so healthy stuff.

Sweet pies and cakes, fruit, and sometimes the additional mashed potatoes or rice with curry.

The curry always lacked meat, of course. Because, in Muni's words:

"A powerful witch like me doesn't need such minimal things as meat."

In Tsukasa's (and a bit of Rinku's) opinion, he doesn't even know how the woman survived without mean and vegetables for so long.

And don't get him started on Rui's food preferences.

The man, just like Muni, will refuse any kind of vegetables with a pouting face like a child. Tsukasa has tried multiple times to get them to eat at least a cucumber but nothing worked! He even put Rinku on the mission to feed the duo some vegetables!

Okay well, to be honest, Rui and Muni have put the tomato in their mouth, but as soon as Rinku turned around, they fed it to Nyochio.

...can cats even eat tomatoes?

Well, normal cat things probably don't apply to Nyochio anyways.

But, to say the least: The job had Tsukasa's braincells dying on the spot.

"Tsukasa-kun!" Rinku's voice brought him out of his thoughts.

The smaller blonde was dangling a bunch of green grapes in front of Tsukasa's face, a happy grin painting her face like always.

"I found these in the pantry! You seem down and sugar always helps!" She said, and Tsukasa took the grapes in his hands.

They were still a bit wet, small droplets of water covering each small bit of fruit.

He was glad that Rinku remembered to wash them this time.

"Thanks, Rinku." Tsukasa said, taking one of the circular fruits, and popping it into his mouth.

The grape was soft, with a little bit of crunch when he bit down. It was sweet as always.

Rinku sat down on the chair next to Tsukasa.

"I gave the food to them on my own, so you can rest." She said, her fingers tapping on her knee with a rhythm unknown to Tsukasa.

"You really didn't have to. I could've gone there." He hummed, popping another grape into his mouth.

He was grateful, he really was, but he didn't want to feel like he wasn't doing anything.

"It's nothing! You cooked the meat for Rui-kun anyways so it's the least I could do!" Rinku said with her usual grin.
