"Summer!" I heard my mom yell. I groaned and checked the time. 12:06. Can't I sleep for one more hour. I sighed and got up. I just graduated high school and I was kind of hoping to sleep in and just relax all day. I slipped on some clothes and put my hair in a messy bun. I stormed downstairs and saw my mom in the kitchen.
"Good Morning, Summer." My mom said.
"Good morning." I sat down on the bar stool.
"I was thinking you could go to Michael's today and see what you can learn from him and his band." She said.
"The only thing I can learn from him is how to be an idiot." I said. My mom stared blankly at me as I laughed at my own joke.
"Just get ready." She said. I sighed and jogged upstairs. I did my make up and put on my black vans. I grabbed phone, a couple dollars, and some gum and put it in the back pockets of my black shorts. I grabbed the keys to my black convertible lexis and walked outside. I got this car as a graduation present from all of my relatives. I absolutely love it. I drove to Michael's house while listening to the radio. Heartbreak Girl by 5 Seconds Of Summer came on. This was my brother's band. Yes Michael Gordon Clifford is my brother. My name is Summer Ann Clifford. I pulled up to the familiar driveway and knocked on the door. No answer. I knocked again. No answer. I opened the door.
"Hey Summer." Michael said.
"Hey didn't you hear me knock?" I asked. He nodded. I sighed and shook my head sitting on the couch. Michael was playing a video game with one of his childhood friends, Calum. I knew Calum really well, every time my parents went out and my friends were busy or couldn't have me over, I'd be at his house playing soccer with him and Michael. Suddenly, Michael stood up he raised his hands and started yelling.
"Told you I'd win!" He yelled. Calum shook his head. I laughed. Calum stood up and sat down on the couch by me.
"Hey Summer how are you?" He asked. I laughed.
"Strong kiwi accent today, Calum." I said. He laughed.
"But yeah I'm fine." I said.
"So you just a graduated high school?" He asked.
"Yeah, you were at my graduation." I said.
"Right." He said. I laughed. Then U heard screaming. I saw Luke Hemmings, another one of Michael's childhood friends, race into the house dripping wet. He was wearing trunks. Then I saw another guy run in. He had dirty blonde hair, he had hazel eyes and... Massive hands? He was soaking wet as well, but wore regular everyday clothes, and looked as if he was pushed into a pool. I've seen him on posters, but was never really introduced. Luke raced into the bathroom. The boy with massive hands tried to unlock the door. He grabbed a paper clip and undid it. He poked it through the hole and started to wiggle it. I got up and walked toward him.
"Do you need help?" I asked. He stood up and was six inches taller than me. Whoa. He just stared at me. I snapped my fingers and he blinked.
"Do you need help unlocking the door?" I asked.
"No!" Luke yelled from inside. He handed me the paper clip and I took it. I rearranged it and unlocked the door. The boy ran in and I heard the screams from Luke. I laughed and walked back over to the couch. The boy walked out and Luke came out with bubbly hair.
"What's in your hair?" I asked.
"Shampoo." The anonymous boy said. First word he ever says to me is shampoo. Wow... Luke glared at him and walked back into the bathroom locking the door. I heard the shower start and turned toward the anonymous boy. Then I looked at Michael. He stared at me blankly and then I looked at the anonymous boy.
"Oh!" Michael yelled he walked over to the boy and wrapped an arm around him.
"This is Ashton Irwin, the band's drummer. Ashton this is my sister Summer." He said. I stood up and reached my hand out. I smiled and tried to be friendly.
"Hey." I said. He hesitantly took my hand. His giant hand engulfed my small dainty one. He smiled lightly at me. I could practically hear his heart beat. I pulled my hand away and went and sat down on the couch. Ashton sat down by me. Okay too close. I scooted over only to bump into Calum. I stood up and sat at one of their bar stools. Ashton looked at me with disappointment and I smiled reassuringly. Ashton walked upstairs to his room. Luke opened the bathroom door with only a towel around his waist. He jogged up the stairs and then his towel fell. I covered my eyes with my hand and spun around.
"Luke, are you trying to flash my sister?" Michael asked teasingly.
"Sorry I didn't mean-" Luke began to say. Then I heard Michael run toward the stairs. I heard Luke scream and race up the stairs. I heard a door slam.
"Don't be such a pussy!" Michael yelled. I heard footsteps run down. I turned back toward the stairs and uncovered my eyes. I saw Luke's towel in a heap on the stairs. Well then. I turned and saw Ashton sitting beside me. Dear Lord. Ashton was cute don't get me wrong, but I just didn't want to get wrapped up in love again. Ashton smiled and I smiled back. I got up and walked to the refrigerator and grabbed a bottle of water. Ashton looked at me with another look of disappointment. I smiled and leaned over their bar counter. I was going to start a conversation but Ashton beat me to it.
"Will you go out on a date with me?" Ashton asked. I couldn't help but laugh. I was so mean. He wanted me to go out with him. I didn't even know him!
"You really don't know Summer." Michael said to Ashton. I looked up and saw a look of sorrow across Ashton's face. I walked over and put my hand on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry, but I barely even know you. We have to be friends before I go out with you." I said. He perked up.
"Then can we go on, a non romantic, date as friends?" He asked. I nodded.
"That sounds good." I said. We made our plans.
"Okay so why are you here?" Michael asked.
"What I can't see my older brother?"
"No you can, it's just, usually you'd be forced by mom or-"
"I was forced by mom." I said.
"Knew it." I smiled.
"So why were you forced by mom?" He asked.
"She thinks I can learn something from you." I heard Calum laugh.
"The only thing you can learn from Michael is how to be an idiot." Said Calum.
"That's what I said!"
"Shut up." Michael said. I giggled.
"So do you want to hear us play?" He asked.
"No I heard you guys on the way hear." I said. Michael stared blankly at me.
"In person?" He asked.
"I'm not some type of fangirl." I said. He sighed.
"Fine. Then what do you want to do?" He asked. I shrugged and checked my phone 1:00. I was late.
"Sorry I gotta go! I'm late to meet my friends and I'm driving." I said grabbing my jacket and hugging Michael.
"Bye! I love you!" I yelled.
"I love you too!" I heard all the boys yell. I giggled to myself and raced to my car.
