After everyone else had left the basement Olive felt hopeless, she felt like every time she tried to do something it was wrong. Therefore she decided to just stay in the basement. There was nothing really to do down here so Olive just sat against the wall looking at the floor, thinking, mostly about Eli. Ava was right, she kept chasing him even when he made it clear he didn't want her to. If he changed his mind, he would have to come to her. Olive was done, trying to make more out of their relationship than there truly was. Olive then turned her thoughts to the situation she was in. Everything had been moving so fast that she hadn't taken a single moment to attempt to comprehend everything that was actually going on. It was very overwhelming and it made Olive cry. Only a little after Olive began crying Zed came down to check on her.

"Oh...you're crying..uhm, I'll go see if one of the others will come down here... I'm sorry I don't know how to help you... I'll go now" He said very awkwardly and he went back up the stairs supposedly to get either Ava or Eli. Olive hoped it was Ava or actually, she truly hoped it was Eli, but she forced herself to hope it would be Ava.

Then only a few minutes later she heard heavy footsteps on the stairs, Eli Olive thought, and she was correct. He very slowly walked over to her. She was still crying. When he reached the corner she had sat herself down in, he sat down beside her.

"I'm sorry, I'm very sorry if I made you sad. I know I've been acting weird. I wish it could be different." He said, looking at the floor. Olive shook her head.

"It's okay, I don't wanna bother you anymore, I will leave you alone, I'll stop, this is all my fault," she said whilst crying uncontrollably.

"I don't want you to leave me alone... I really don't, but... I also can't be with you the way you want me to. I'm messed up... that part of me doesn't exist anymore. I can't love anyone anymore. Even if I want to. You don't want what is left of me - I promise you of that" he said, his eyes still completely locked on the floor. Olive's crying slowly got more still, and her shallow breath turned deeper.

"How did I get in this mess? How did I end up here, on the floor in the basement of the house of three vampires, with other vampires chasing me? I was normal before, just plain, boring, normal. I wanna be that way again."

"Yeah... I know that feeling. Sometimes I wish I had stayed human and never been turned into a vampire. But I can't change that. You can't spend your time wishing you were different, cause you're not. You gotta find a way to make what you are work."

There was silence for a moment. Then they both decided that it was time for Olive to go to bed, the ball of darkness was already tomorrow. She needed to be rested and the last couple of hours had taken all her energy from her.

Olive woke up a little late the next day, the skin on her face was completely dry, it would appear she had been crying in her sleep. She slowly got up from the bed and went over to her closet. The ball is today, she thought as she looked in her closet. I can't wear any of this

Instead of finding some casual clothes to wear, she decided to go try and find Ava, and see if she had any dresses that might fit Olive. There was no one in the living room, but Olive heard sounds from the kitchen, so she walked into the kitchen. There she saw Ava attempting to cook some bacon. The bacon was pretty much burned when Olive walked in.

"Oh no..you're awake... I know you had a rough night last night so I wanted to wake you with breakfast. And now I've even burned it" She said and removed the bacon from the pan.

"It's fine...I'm actually feeling a lot better this morning, and maybe I should just start cooking for myself. Not that I don't appreciate you trying" Olive said looking at the burnt bacon.

"Yeah. You're properly right" Ava said, with a small laugh.

"I was wondering, considering the ball is today. If you have any dresses that would fit me? I don't think I own anything nearly fancy enough to bring to a ball, let alone a ball filled with vampires" Olive said

"Yes, I was actually thinking the same thing. I have a couple of dresses that are slightly big on me, I was thinking after breakfast we could go to my room, and you could try them on?"

"Yes, that would be great," Olive said.

Olive started to cook some more bacon. Olive finished cooking the bacon, and then she also made some eggs. She decided to eat it in the living room. She felt slightly uncomfortable sitting and eating with Ava basically just staring at her. For some reason, neither Eli nor Zed was here

"Do you remember food at all?" Olive asked Ava to break the silence that had fallen upon the room.

"No...Not really, I tried to eat something after I turned into a vampire, and it just tastes like dry dust. That's really all food is to me now." Ava said, and they went back to silence. After Olive finished Eating, Ava took her plate to the kitchen to clean it up. They then went to Ava's room. Olive had never been here before. It was fairly dark but somewhat feminine. Her bed had the most gorgeous red and black flowered bedspread and her windows were slightly covered by black lace curtains. She had 3 closets. Which when Olive thought about it made sense. Ava wore a new outfit every day, and some days she would even change throughout the day. She looked through one of the closets, and Olive could see that the only thing in this closet was dresses. After a little while of rummaging through the dresses, she finally pulled one out. It was a deep burgundy colored dress. It had a corseted top with a sweetheart neckline. The skirt portion was made of tulle with embroidered flowers.

"It's beautiful," Olive said.

"Yes, and I think it's just your size," Ava said, with the biggest smile on her face that Olive had ever seen. It would appear that Ava really liked clothes. Olive got some help from Ava to try on the dress, the corset needed to be tightened and Ava appeared to be an expert at doing that. It fit Olive perfectly. Like it was made for her. She twirled around a couple of times. She felt incredibly beautiful.

"Now... the big question. Will you allow me to do your makeup?" Ava asked excitingly

Olive was hesitant to answer this question, Ava wore much heavier and way darker makeup than Olive was used to, But perhaps this would help her blend more in amongst the vampires. So she said yes. Ava's makeup was beautiful. She had given Olive a dark black smokey eyeshadow, and a Bright red lipstick. Ava then did her own makeup in a similar fashion.

"You know, these balls of darkness can be kinda boring, but man do I love dressing up for them. Should we go downstairs and see if they guys are ready? They went out earlier to get some fresh deer blood from the local hunter" Ava said and looked over at Olive

Olive simply nodded and they went down Into the living room again. Here both Eli and Zed were standing ready in their suits. As Olive entered the room she noticed Eli's gaze, staring at her for a moment. Then he shook his head and looked down at the floor.
