A loud bang woke them before the sun had risen; then there we shouts. They sprang into action running outside, only to see two young men with dark hair riding motorbikes. A long chain dangled between them and they used it to sweep the infected off their feet. It was a sight to see; the infected were busy with Jin and JiMin, so JungKook and Orailia sprinted toward the Lincoln Memorial. They had reached next to the lake, which had been marked the Tidal Basin on the map, when a massive vine slithered from the straight pool of water just before the memorial. It was slimy and moved so animal-like despite the fact that O knew it was a plant she still felt disgusted by it.

It lashed out at them, they both just barely managed to avoid it, JunKook grabbed her hand and ran pulling her forward. It was clear then that it had no interest in him, the vine-ish reed whipped out and lashed her around the middle, ripping her hand from his and sending her flying. Her body collided with the water with a significant splash. A black fox had darted out of nowhere, its fur standing on end, it jumped letting its teeth dig into the giant creeper plant. Its claws also dug in shredding a chunk of plant off. The vine shook violently but the little fox dug its teeth in again and ripped another chunk off, this time throwing itself off the plant as well. The creeper made a high pitched shrill sound, and retreated back to the pond it had come from.

The fox touched its paw to the water of the Tidal Basin a ripple moved the waters surface. Before a massive bubble-like droplet appeared above the surface, within it floated Orailia. JungKook ran for her as the bubble moved and burst inches above the grass. She coughed, marks appearing along her neck, spreading like blue fire. JungKook recognized them, splashing randomly on her biceps, they weren't her marks... They were TaeHyung's marks on her skin. Opening her eyes she scrambled to her feet. He turned from her to the fox, it chittered, as their eyes connected a huge smile spread over JungKook's face. He would recognize those eyes anywhere.

Shouting for Jin and JiMin, they revered their bikes and sped over. The fox turned into vapour for less than a second, in its place flapped an owl. It shot into the sky, flapping its great dark wings. Orailia swung behind Jin and JK with JiMin. They sped off, he could hear Orailia telling Jin that she thought Octavia would be at the building ahead. The owl flew out in front of them clawing at infected with its massive talons as it went.

Jin and JiMin expertly maneuvered the bikes for people who should have never ridden them before today, but O guessed there was some story behind that as well. If V had spent time in the human world perhaps so had they.

"I'm going to borrow this." O shouted in Jin's ear, drawing his sword, and pressing her dagger in in-return. O could already see her waiting at the top of the stairs, Octavia dressed in an emerald green dress. The bike was skidding to a stop, Orailia flung herself from it, and rolled, jumping to her feet she ascended the stairs, not at a run but at a triumphant walk.

The reed like vine lashed out behind her in an attempt to take her by surprise but she could feel everything through the water. She flicked Jin's sword from her right to her left hand, using the right to seize the plant with a watery grip, crushing it. The plant made an extinguishing scream.

"Don't fucking test me Octavia!" She shouted. Below the boys were fighting off the infected, Jin held her dagger in his fist. At her heels trotted the black fox, silver spots in the fur at his neck. "I'm really sick of you at this point. Trauma isn't an excuse to act like a royal psychotic bitch!" The sentence caught her sister off guard.

Then they were locked in battle, sword against vine, and root. O lashed out spun, ducked, she parried her sister easily. It was like the water had given her clarity again. She slashed at a particularly thorny vine and the sword stuck. O released it from her grip, realizing she didn't need it. Calling the water to her, emptying the pond in which the large shake vine had lived, she let it surround her now, a swirling tornado.
