Irina Denali arrived in Forks about 2 days later.

Yesterday we all talked with the elders of La Push about Jacob and his consequences at the treaty line. That went as you all thought. Billy Black didn't want us to kill his only son. He threatened making the treaty void and we would all have to leave the area or we would be killed by the pack.

However, when Billy spoke those words Sam-wolf stepped to the vampire side of the treaty line. 

I was confused, "Sam doesn't want to do it." Edward translated. I saw the jet black wolf look at his pack wondering what their choice was. Seth and Leah made their choice when they stayed on our side when the vampires and the wolves first arrived to the line. I found out from Edward that the whole reason why those two have been so close to me was because Leah imprinted on me as more of a sister/protector. I guess the same went with Seth and Angela in a brother/protector. That was going to be hard since Angela was going to Italy soon to transition.

More of the pack crossed the line then. 

I was surprised that they were on our side. The only two who didn't were Embry and Quil V. I figured since they were friends with Jacob.

 The two wolves just stood still and I caught Edward looking at them, "They are having issues trying to accept what is really going on." Edward whispered. A growl came from one of the two.

Back to Irina now. When the last of the Denali coven arrived, I asked Carlisle if we could borrow his office. The vampire doctor gave me the permission and I had Irina follow me up to it.

Once inside and the door shut I took a seat behind Carlisles desk. Irina sat across the desk in a chair. "Irina, I was told of what your plans were in regards to killing the pack of wolves across the river for the death of your supposed mate." I spoke. "Supposed? He was!" she snapped. "Watch your tone around me. I maybe the mate of one of your "cousins", but I am still the Princess of the Volturi." I warned. The blonde bowed her head with anger, "I want to ask you something. If this Laurant was your mate, why did he leave you?" I asked. She didn't answer.

"Irina, I need you to answer me." I said calmly to the blonde across from me. "He wanted to change. To be with me." Irina answered. "Then why was he back in Forks going after a then human Isabella Swan?" I questioned. "He never said anything to me about it." she replied. "Are you aware that he was working with an old coven mate of sorts of his to kill that girl?" I asked. "If I did I could have convinced him not to." she answered now looking back up at me.

I figured now it was time for me to tell Irina about something I found out. "I talked with your sisters ,Eleazar, and Carmen yesterday Irina. They all said the same thing. Laurant wasn't as dedicated to this vegetarian lifestyle. Tanya said that he always seemed less enthused about the whole thing. Kate said it seemed like he was waiting for something else." I explained. Irina let out an un-needed sigh, "He said those things to you to manipulate you dear. You and your sisters didn't have mates at the time and you seemed the most vulnerable. Tanya being the defacto coven leader and Kate being gifted, he couldn't go after them." I said trying to get her to understand. "What would you know about that?" she asked then. "You forget, I am a Volturi. I know the story of Immortal children. More precisely about Vasilii and your sort of mother figure Sasha. Your mother was executed for creating a child who didn't know a lot. My father spoke of emotions running high amongst your coven that day. You were the most upset about the situation." I answered still trying to get her to understand that what Laurant did was toxic as hell.

"We all were. What does that have to do with this?" Irina questioned. "Like I said before, you were the only one in your coven that Laurant could manipulate." I answered. "Laurant left you in the dust Irina. If the wolves didn't kill him when they did, he would have still died because he was working with the woman who wanted me dead. He didn't care about you." I spoke now trying to get it through her head. Irina started to shake her head in disagreement. "He knew the risk of coming back here if The Olympic Coven was still here at the time of his death. Edward can read minds in case you forgot. He would have lost his cover of "visiting". Alice would have seen his choice." I said now trying to calm myself down from losing it on her. I took a couple of un-needed breaths to try to control my emotions before Jasper would probably barge in.

"Think about this scenario then. Say he got you to go with him." I spoke now trying a different approach. "Where would you be right now?" I asked. "How would your coven react if you were dead at the moment? Your sisters?" I asked. I saw the blonde now in thought, "Think about it and call me back." I said. I got up and left Carlisles office then.

When I got downstairs I locked eyes with Irinas "sisters", "I apologize that I brought up your mother. I needed her to understand to the extent of what that man did to her before I suggest what we came up with." I said to the two blondes. "You were trying to get through to her. We don't want her to wind up dead for her emotions being so high. You made a lot of valid points. We were told of the start of your er... relationship with Edward. The fact that you almost died and all." Tanya said. "The distance is why I was sent here after meeting him." I said.

"Mi angelo is what we all of The Volturi wish we could have been. We have been ruling so long that we can't change any of our faults." my father then spoke. I looked at him, "You could still try papa. It's the 21st century." I said. "You sound like your mother and aunt. They have been wanting things to change in what they see is a good way." he said. "I know." I said with a smile now thinking of my mother. 

 A little while later I heard, "Princess." I excused myself from everyone and went back to Carlisles office. 

Once I was inside, door shut, and sat down again. I looked at Irina and noticed the venom by her waterline of her gold eyes. Yeah, she thought about it. "I was wronged and manipulated." she spoke. "Yes you were." I said. "I still cared about him though." she said.

  "Do you still want some revenge as closure to this whole thing?" I asked. Irina looked at me, "I can't allow you to kill the wolves across the river, but there is one that was kicked from the pack and is now after me." I explained. "Why would it be after you?" she asked. "This wolf in particular had been manipulated by that human Isabella Swan. He was fully convinced that I hurt her so bad with taking Edward that she was turned into one of us and then killed by The Volturi. He blames me for her death, when really it was her fault." I replied. "Alright..." she said. "We have been given permission to kill him. As much as his father is ticked off. The other elders of that tribe and the wolf pack have agreed that this shifter has gone too far." I explained. "I would like to offer you the chance to kill him. Both The Volturi and The Olympic Coven will step aside for this to happen. You deserve some sort of closure on the chapter that is that toxicity of that relationship you had with Laurant." I said. "Just me?" she asked. "You can have some help, but I would prefer you get the killing blow." I answered. "I accept your offer Princess." she said. We shook hands to seal the deal.

Also, I know canonically Laurant and Irina were mates. This is FANfiction. I can do whatever I want with these characters.)
