Part Three: The Consultation

Minho and Jisung found themselves at the fertility clinic four weeks after the cat hybrid's heat ended. After staying in their room for breakfast five days in a row due to Minho's stomach disagreeing with him, Hyunjin suggested they stop by for a check-up. The nurse snapped the latex gloves on her wrist, "It sounds like you're pregnant. Would you like to go ahead and get an ultrasound to confirm?"

Minho almost felt guilty as happiness filled him. Should he be this happy over this situation? For now, he would allow himself to be happy. He knew once the reality of the situation hit him again, it would hit him hard. He knew reality would hit him with a tsunami of emotions, so he would allow himself to be happy while he could. Minho smiled, "Please?"

The nurse nodded, momentarily leaving the room. Minho looks over at Jisung, squeezing his hand. The squirrel hybrid admirred Minho, "Are you excited?"

Minho nodded, "I didn't expect to be this happy. I thought I would be sad."

Jisung brings the cat hybrid's hand up to his mouth, pressing a kiss onto the soft skin, "I'm happy, too. I can't wait to take you two home after this."

The nurse walked into the room, rolling a cart, "Can you lay down on the examination table for me and roll up your shirt?" Minho let go of Jisung's hand, listening to the nurse's instructions. As the cat hybrid rolled up his shirt, the nurse grabbed a bottle from the cart, pouring the slimy substance on his lower stomach. Minho hissed at the cold sensation. The cat and squirrel hybrid watched the nurse as she moved the probe around, trying to find the growing child. "Congratulations. I can go ahead and print off copies for you two," The nurse smiled as she pointed at the screen in front of her, showing the blob of cells to the pair, "From what I can see right now, you'll have a litter of two. Seeing as this is your first litter, that's common for both cat and squirrel hybrids. I'll schedule a consultation with one of our cross-breed specialist doctors. That way, they can go into detail on what to expect. Hopefully, this can clear up any worries either of you may have. Would you like me to go ahead and email Ms. Mihae so she can prepare your documents?"

Tears rolled down Minho's face as he looked at the blob of cells on the screen. If you told the cat hybrid a year ago where he would be today, he wouldn't have believed you. Yet here he was with the most caring alpha he'd met, and now they had a family.

Jisung spoke up for the omega as he noticed he wasn't listening to the nurse, "You can tell her."

The nurse nodded as she printed off copies of the ultrasound, handing them to Minho. After the nurse cleaned off Minho's stomach, she opened her laptop, "There is an opening on Wednesday at 9:30 this week with one of our cross-breed specialists. Would that work for you two?"

"That works for us," Jisung said as he admired the photos the nurse handed him. He made a mental note to buy a frame to display these in their room.

After their appointment with the nurse, Minho and Jisung walked back to their room hand in hand. Minho took the photos from Jisung as they left so he could study them.

"Should we tell Jinnie and Jeongin?" Minho asked, grinning ear to ear.

"We could tell them at game night before Chan and Seungmin get there," Jisung said, "I don't know if we should tell Chan and Seungmin yet since this is their first time meeting you."

Minho nodded, "Agreed. You think they can keep their mouths shut for tonight?"

Jisung opened their room door for Minho, "Of course they can."

And maybe Jisung was right. Hyunjin and Jeongin could keep their mouth shut. But that didn't stop Hyunjin from giggling and acting like a teenager the whole night as he clung to the cat hybrid's side.
