The atmosphere was bright, yet there was no noise nor rackets, but silence. Hinata wanted to see through the eyes of her Byakugan to try and find a village nearby.
However, when she tried to activate her Byakugan, she felt loads of foreign chakra enter her system. The reason she said foreign was because normally, her chakra was light and soothing, like a gentle stream. However, the chakra that flooded her system was different. It was like a quiet stream of water that had an undercurrent of potency. It coarsed through her veins and in the end, it caused her eyes to sting and her chakra to distort into multiple layers as well as her senses to overload.
This was a big problem, so Hinata had to solve it. She tried to control it but, it didn't work. Her chakra was completely messed up, much less her chakra control. She found this completely unacceptable and quite disheartening, but unfortunately she couldn't give up so she kept on, until she couldn't anymore.
She had been laying on the ground in a daze full of frustrations and exhaustion , wanting more than to give up, until Indra spoke. His exact words being, "It is meant to be embraced not controlled. It is a part of you and hence at your disposal". His tone was bland but she could tell he was speaking from experience, however she still didn't exactly know what he meant. Hinata would have wanted to ask him to elaborate but he left and she was left alone. Hinata then tried to stabilize her chakra repeatedly until she eventually succeeded, then she suddenly had an epiphany.
Indra had healed. Indra, her kidnapper had healed. This made her feel greatly uncomfortable, which was simply because no matter how much they seem to be courteous towards each other, he was still her kidnapper and at some point he was almost her killer. She didn't bear any grudge against him, but it was still terrifying, which made her remember exactly how precarious her situation was.
Hinata felt uneasy every single time they ate together, thinking about when he would return to his former self. She felt even worse, because they were courteous if not slightly amiable towards each other and even though he occasionally looked down on her, Hinata could also sense that he a positive impression on her.
However, he was still not someone she could classify as an acquittance much less a friend, mainly because he was still her kidnapper. And worst of all, her kidnapper was strong. Indra, was incredibly and amazingly strong that even the words that Hinata used to describe his strength, did not give him justice. It was simply a form of injustice to even describe his strength with such little words.
The reason for her praise was mainly because of her senses and observation.
As the heir of the Hyūga clan, Hinata attended meetingswith her father since she could walk and talk. At some point during the meeting, she met the third Hokage, who was arguably the strongest ninja in the village. He had a large beacon of chakra which was steady, polished and slightly warm. Of course, to sense him, she concentrated her senses very hard. This is because like every strong ninja, he would mask his presence, and generally how well you masked your chakra was evidence of how skilled you are. If it could be masked to the point of invisibility, it meant perfect chakra control and exemplary skill.
The third Hokage's chakra was incredibly faint. This clearly proved he was incredibly skilled because even her own father and the men who were in the hokage's office were unable to escape her senses. They were incredible too, but unlike the Hokage who, if she hadn't tried extremely hard would have been invisible to her.
Sensing someone took a lot of energy and precision if faced with someone incredibly strong. But, as Hinata went through her control of her chakra, she realized that she had never once sensed Indra's chakra. Not a pinch, nor a hich and not even a tint. Not when he was hurt, tired and weak, even when he was passed out on the floor, she had not felt his presence. She could see him, she could sense his emotions but she somehow couldn't sense his chakra, he was completely invisible.
