Hinata danced with the wind. She laughed and she chuckled. She giggled and she danced. Her hands held her fellow age mates hands and she couldn't help but marvel at how much older she looked. She was dressed in a white kimono that wrapped pleasantly around her, whilst she and the group of children danced in a large circle.
The crowds clapped and cheered on beat and Hinata danced. She danced so much, she started to feel her feet form blisters.
She looked at Indra who somewhat 'blended' in the crowd. Kind of. He was too handsome to be hidden and most people were outfight gawking at at the teenager's appearance.
Her lilac eyes danced with a shadow of happiness that she hadn't felt in a while, which was funny, her mom just died. Regardless of that fact, Hinata ignored the lingering bits of death that surrounded her heart and she danced even more. Her feet were tired, but she didn't stop. She couldn't. Because if she di-
"NEE-CHAN!"
If she stopped.
"I'M THRWEE NOW!"
Hanabi! No she couldn't stop dancing. She must keep dancing!
"NEE-CHAN. DON'T GO!"
SHUT UP! Hinata yelled in her mind whilst her feet moved. Again. Move again. Stop. Stop thinking. She must keep going. She must-
"COME BACK!"
And Hinata breathed.
Hanabi. Please. Keep quiet. Wait. Wait a little longer. Please. Stop tormenting me. I'm coming back. I'm coming back. Your nee-chan is coming back. Please. Hanabi stop tormenting me. I'm coming back to you and papa. I'm coming back home. Just not now. Hanabi please.
She didn't even realize she stopped and she couldn't help but remember what she said to the heir of the Uchiha clan and her conscious immediately attacked her. You're a liar. Nothing is okay.
A cold, hard chest bumped lightly into her body and Hinata blinked. Her eyes stared at the dark onyx eyes of Indra and Hinata blinked again. Uchihas. She must have done something somewhere along the lines to be intertwined with them. Especially the founder of the Uchiha clan. He was greater than Uchiha Madara and he alone was a man she never thought she could ever meet and yet here she was with the founder, with the man who started it all. And here he also was.
Hinata didn't ask him what he was doing and waited. Indra then moved. He danced slowly and moved with her. Her eyes widened slightly, but Hinata followed pace as the chaos music she heard started to slow down.
Indra twirled her around looked at her. Why was he doing this? Hinata couldn't help but think, there was no benefit to it for him, and Indra was certainly not a good samaritan. He was cold. Colder than the face of any Uchiha she had ever seen. Cold like the man she had watched fight his brother in jealousy. And yet, somehow, even with the cold Hinata felt a twinge of warmth, of...comfort.
Then she realized. Her body hadn't shivered once.
They danced for a little while until it was over. Hinata stared at the lights and the festival that kept on going and she couldn't but feel a certain peace. This joy. This innocence. This happiness. This was all she wanted to protect. Even if it meant not seeing her family for double the years she could have seen them. Hinata still relented, she would protect the peace and Hanabi, would never have to live in a world where the sun didn't shine.
"Thank you"
Hinata whispered in appreciation to Indra as he nodded, whilst they walked towards the portal's destination. It was very far and the only reason it had opened right at her destination was probably because of the sharingan's ability to kamui. And the only reason they couldn't kamui to that destination was most likely because Indr-
