"Mumma." The baby boy, Averi, looked up at Kacee with big, round eyes. His face scrunched up in confusion as he tried to form words around his lisped tongue. He reached out a chubby hand, reaching for her long, jet-black hair. Kacee smiled down at him, her own voice softening into a gentle sing-song. "Awww, you want to play with my hair, my love?" She carefully took his hand and gently placed it on his own head. "Why don't you try saying 'mine'?" She made the sound for 'm' and the 'n' sound for 'n' for him, showing him how it was done.
