Chapter 11

Amane's eyes fluttered open as he groaned quietly. He rubs his eyes before looking around the room, confused about why he's in the nurse's office. The boy notices Tsuchigomori, who's fast asleep while sitting in the chair next to the bed. The rising sun shines through the window, the colors of orange and pink tinting Amane's face. He sits upright, still unable to move his limp arm.

"I see you're finally awake, Amane," Yako says from the distance. She's pouring coffee into a mug to try and keep herself awake, as Tsuchigomori told her about the situation which made her a little ticked off, knowing she had to show up early. She sips on her coffee, "I looked at your arm and you need both a cast and a sling. So what we're going to do is start on that now..."

Amane sighs and nods, trying to move his damaged arm. He immediately regrets it as he feels a sharp pain after doing so, causing him to tear up. "I-It hurts..."

"Don't try to move it, Amane! I'm getting everything ready, so be patient!" The older woman scolds him with a glare on her face. The boy gulps and quickly nods his head.

Yako shakes Tsuchigomori awake and he yawns, looking up at her. "Ah... Thank you, Yako... I'll talk to you later, alright, Amane?" His student nods at him with a weak smile as he slowly gets up, and walks toward the door. 

"I'll make sure Tsukasa won't bother you."

Yashiro's main goal this morning was to see Amane right away. She wasn't going to sit and chat with anyone, so she made her way past all the students as quickly as possible. That is, until she bumps into a familiar blonde with one earring who causes her to almost fall back, but ends up catching her.

"Senpai!! Are you alright?" Kou looks down at the girl in his arms, his face slightly concerned.

Nene looks up at him before shaking her head and standing back up. "I-I'm fine, Kou-Kun! I have to go!" She brushes herself off and starts to take a running start once again until Mitsuba grabs her shoulder.

"Wait, Radish-Chan, what the hell is going on with you?!" He shouts at her through the loud hallway.

She looks back at the pink boy, visibly upset with tears starting to well up in her eyes. "I found Amane yesterday!"

Kou and Mitsuba shoot a look at each other before turning back toward Nene.

"Can we come?!" The blonde asks, getting a nod in response from Yashiro who starts to run away again. The boys followed close behind her, scared of what was going on with their space-loving friend.

The trio makes it to the nurse's office and opens the door, seeing the amber-eyed boy sitting on one of the beds with his arm in a sling. He stares at the cherry blossom tree outside, not noticing the group come in.

"Amane!!" Yashiro runs over to him with tears in her eyes and embraces him in a tight hug.

He jumps at first but chuckles when he realizes it's just Nene and wraps his arm around her. "Hey, Nene. Hey guys." He looks over at the two other boys with a smile on his face.

Kou and Mitsuba stand there in shock, wondering what the hell happened while they were gone.

Kou is the first one to ask because Mitsuba is obviously more pissed at Amane than he is. "Amane. What happened yesterday?"

The amber-eyed boy looks down at the girl hugging him then back at his friends, letting out a sigh. "I guess I'll say it now... Yesterday morning I was trying to run through the hallway to talk with Nene, but I tripped over Tsukasa's foot before I could reach her. Everyone started laughing at me and I couldn't even get up to run off because my brother was keeping me on the floor by stepping on me... I tried to reach out for Nene, but someone in the crowd stepped on my arm."
