I feel strange walking through these unkept woods.

My nerves are calmed down, and my body is relaxed. Although, my body has never been more restless. I'm walking into the woods with two girls I barely know.

They could potentially have the answers I'm looking for, but they could also be two girls who are way too interested in the "stone" I have.

I have no idea why I agreed to follow them. It could have been out of greed or desperation, but it could be my ticket to death.

"So... do you have any idea about what's going on? I'm a little confused on where we are going, or what's happening for that matter," I ask while pushing a branch away from my face.

"To be honest, Maggie and I have no idea what's going. But we are going to our hangout spot for you to meet everybody!" Baily responds as she ducks under a huge log.

"What do you mean by everybody."

In that moment, my anxiety started to rise. Who are these people that I'm going to meet?

"Oh, well they are the other people that we have found to have 'powers'. We think you're the last one we needed to find."

Okay, that makes more sense. At least I know who I'm approaching.

The land around us is starting to flatten, and the dense part of the woods is starting to lighten up. To add onto that, I'm starting to see more human-built structures around me. Up ahead, I see a house that seems to be forgotten and left behind.

"We're almost here!" Maggie says in an upbeat voice.

As we walk a couple hundred feet, an abandoned hotel starts to come into view. More buildings are starting to become present, although most of it is taken over by the beauty of nature. Vines and leaves intertwine with the manmade structures.

The two girls lead me to the front and start to move boards to make an entrance inside the building. Maggie moves a board right to the side of her, while baily slams the boards on the ground. Baily looks over to me and starts instructing me on how to get inside.

"So, when you enter the building, there is going to be a flight of stairs on the right. Go up those stairs until you see a hole in the ceiling. Pull yourself up into the hole, and you're at the destination." Baily says as she points inside the hotel.

"Okay, got it. But why are you telling me this now? Can't you tell me on the way up?" I ask, obviously confused.

"Well, Maggie and I have to check and see if there is anyone else around, plus we have to board up the door. We've had a couple people try and break in."

Okay, that's totally not terrifying.

"Go on now. Stop standing there and go in" Maggie says as she starts to wander around the building, presumably looking for any 'intruders'.

My feet move inside the building, and my body soon follows.

"Oh gosh, it's so dark in here," I whisper to myself as I bring out my phone to use as a flashlight.

There is some light entering the hotel, but it barely illuminates the entire room.

I make my way over to the stairs and start to climb the multiple steps. Glass and rubble litter the floors of the hotel, and old velvet carpet peeks out from under all the trash.

As I start to walk up the stairs, I notice I have a lot more endurance than I usually do. Normally, I would be tired after walking up a lot of stairs, but I'm barely tired after climbing 5 flights of stairs.

"Woah, that's fucking nuts" I whisper to myself once again.

I continue walking up the stairs until I reach a ground floor. I point my flashlight around and find a small hole in the ceiling, which matches the description Baily had given me. I walk over to it and step onto a small wooden pallet before pulling myself up with ease onto the next floor.

Unlike the darkness the rest of the hotel provides, this floor was lit up as windows were placed all over the walls. Most of them were broken or shattered, or even ripped from the frame. Nonetheless, it looked absolutely beautiful.

I start to push myself from off the floor, as I was still on my knees. Before I could get a good look around the room, a loud voice starts to shout.

"What the fuck are you doing here?"

I look over to see a man holding a bat in his hand.
