She always puts others before herself. She would rather be the one to get hurt because she feels she deserves it.

I am Hadlee Bennett I am 17. I have been in the foster care system since I was 11 I have been in 7 homes over those years. Most of them were definitely not the best. Now you may be wondering how I ended up in the system. That's always everyone's question. Well, let me tell you.
So, my parents were the best parents a little girl could ask for. We would have movie nights and eat popcorn and cuddle on the couch. It was the best. They always made sure I was happy. I knew I was never alone because I had them.... Until one day my whole life changed.
At the time there were a series of break-ins in our neighborhood. I think it was because of all the nice houses where we lived but Anyways, I'm getting distracted. The group that was breaking into houses... Well, they broke into ours. You see, my daddy was a cop. So, he was definitely not going to allow them to hurt us. My daddy put up a fight. But in the end they killed my parents. I was only 9 at the time and for some reason they didn't kill me. What they did to me was much worse. When they left my house, they took my with them. Those men kept me hostage for 2 years. In those two years. I was tortured, raped and starved. I still have scars on my body (mainly my back and one above my eye brow) from the whips. Then one day the police came and they rescued me. Since then I've been in the system. I lost hope of EVER getting adopted. I mean no one wants a 17 year old teenager. Plus I am too broken to let anyone in. So... Here I am.
