Lizzie's pov
While Haddlee was sleeping i was just thinking. What if this doesn't work out? What if Haddlee refuses to do this? What if things don't work out with her and Robbie? My mind was just racing and i was overthinking everything.
"Liz, are you ok?" Robbie asked.
I just nodded my head. And looked at Haddlee.
"Take a deep breath Liz. It's okay. She's safe now." Scarlett said.
"Yeah you're right. Im just so worried about her. She's only 17 and she has already been through a lifetime of imaginable pain." I whispered to them. Scarlett sighed and looked at Robbie then back at me.
"Liz I know you're scared... I am too, but I have a good feeling about this." She said with a light smile.
"Yeah, you're right." I said and smiled back.We were now just relaxing and waiting for her social worker to arrive.
Scarlett's pov
Im not going to lie. I am definitely worried about Haddlee too. Liz is right. Haddlee has been through a lifetime of pain. I'm nervous that she will get into a good, safe home and she wont know how to handle it or what to do. I know she's going to be scared, but i will do anything to keep her safe. I care about her so much.
We were enjoying the quiet when the doctor walked in with an older woman. I am assuming it was her social worker. So Liz woke Haddlee up.
Haddlee's pov
I was sleeping when i woke up to Lizzie.
"Hey sweetie, wake up. Your social worker is here." She said as she lightly touched my shoulder. The second she said 'social worker' I panicked. My head started spiraling. What do you mean social worker? They are going to take me away. Im not going to be able to act anymore. Im never gonna be able to see Scarlett again. I cant do this.
"Haddlee, hun you need to breathe. Ok? It's ok. Just breathe with me." Scarlett said as she took me out of my thoughts. I didn't even know i was panicking.
"I-I can't." I struggled out.
Scarlett then took my hand and placed it onto her chest.
"Wh-what?" I said
"Just breathe. Try to match my breathing." Scarlett said.
I shook my head still struggling to breathe.
"Baby, come here." She pulled my head to her chest and put her other hand over my head. All I could hear was her heartbeat and her breathing.
"Just listen."
I just listened and I tried to match her breathing. After a while i calmed down.
"Good job Hads. It's okay." Scarlett said.
Hads i like that."Are you ok sweetie?" Lizzie asked me.
I looked up and just nodded. When I finally looked at the social worker I took a deep breath and prepared myself for what she was about to say.
"Hadlee can I speak to you alone for a minute?" She asked in a soft tone.
I tried to speak but no words came out.
"Hun, we will just be right outside. I promise it will be okay. You're safe here." Scarlett told me.
I nodded my head and they left the room."My name is Heather. Hadlee, can you explain what happened tonight?" My social worker asked.
"Yeah.." I took a deep breath and explained everything. I even explained what happed on set and how for some reason Scarlett and Elizabeth make me feel safe.
She smiled at the last part. Then She looked serious.
"Hadlee, I am going to go outside and talk to Robbie and Elizabeth, I will be right back." She said. I just slowly nodded my head.
She walked out and I was stuck with my thoughts.
Why would she need to talk to Robbie? She didn't even mention Scarlett. What if Scarlett left? Did I do something wrong? I knew it! No one ever stays. I knew I shouldn't get attached. I'm so stupid!
As my mind was racing I realized I couldn't breathe. The machines next to my bed started beeping really loud and it just made it worse.Scarlett's pov
Hadlee's social worker was talking to her as we all stood in the hall quietly waiting. After about 15 minutes her social worker came out to talk to us.
"So I just talked to hadlee. I didn't tell her the plans or anything yet. I figured you three would want to be with me.... She also told my about what happened on set today. She said that she feels safe with you guys." She told us smiling. We all smiled back.
I was about to respond when we heard beeping coming from hadlee's room. We all rushed in.
She was having another panic attack. I quickly rushed over to the side of her bed.
"Hadlee, it's ok. It's ok. Just breathe baby it's ok we're here. We're not going anywhere." I said as i held her hand. She looked at me and shook her head.
"I- I thought- i thought you l-left." She told me crying.
"Left? No baby, we were just outside." I told her as i gave her a hug.
Lizzie went to the other side of Hadlee and asked
"What made you think we left?" She asked in a soft tone. Hadlee put her head down then looked at all of us.
"Heather, left the room and said she was going to talk to Robbie and Elizabeth. She never said anything about Scarlett. So, i thought she left. I started panicking because no one ever actually stays. I knew it was going to happen but it just hurt. I'm sorry i really don't mean to be a baby but-" Hadlee panically said. I cut her off
"Hadlee no.. sweetie. I will NEVER leave you. I care about you so much." I looked at Lizzie
"Hadlee we all care about you. None of us are going anywhere." Lizzie said in a comforting tone. As Robbie gave her a soft smile.
Hadlee nodded her head. I could see that she relaxed a bit. Lizzie, Robbie and i looked at the social worker.
Her social worker took a deep breath and said"Hadlee, the reason i needed to talk to them was because i needed to update them on their new foster daughter."
