School is something I despise more than the average teenager. The normal teen says they hate school, but deep down, they like going because they get to see their friends. I have to share my only friend with people who will most likely disappear from her life right after we graduate.
While all three of us walk down the hallway, Beck and Ariel being all lovey dovey, everyone's eyes are glued to us. I don't know if they're staring at the couple or at me. Hopefully at them because I'm getting really anxious right now. A girl with blonde hair and a round head, stops me by standing in front of me.
"I have a question," she says looking me up and down. "How does it feel to be the ugly twin?"
She walks past me, purposely bumping her shoulder into mine before mumbling "creep" under her breath. A couple of kids around me laugh and point, which only makes my cheeks grow red. My chest feels like someone unloaded a truck full of bricks on it. I feverishly look around to see if Ariel was around but there's no red hair in sight. I spot a restroom at the end of the hallway and start sprinting towards it. I push everyone who got in my way of escaping all the laughter.
I run into the bathroom and lock myself into a stall. My breathing is out of control, right now, it's crazy. Something wet hits my left hand.
Aw man, here comes the tears.
"Is someone in here?" asks a voice. I wipe my tears as if the girl can see right through the door. "Come on, I heard you sniffling."
"What do you want?" I finally speak up. I didn't say it in a mean way. I said it as gentle as I could.
"Don't you need someone to talk to? Might as well talk to me since I'm skipping first period, anyways. I'm not the physics type."
I don't know if I should confide in this chick that I don't even know. What if she tells everyone everything I say to her? Oh man I would kill myself.
"Come on," her voice sounding closer now. "You can trust me."
Without thinking, I unlock the stall and slowly open it. In front of me is a girl dressed in black with a green streak in her hair. A smile develops on her face and she steps closer. She opens up her arms and I dive in, letting all of my sadness loose. Never have I ever had someone other than family comfort me like this. My so called friends used to tell me I overreact or that I should just shut the haters out. They never understood that I can't do that. My self esteem is damaged.
My exhaling slows down enough for me to talk. "I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me."
"You're depressed, I can tell. My mom used to be the same way," she says stroking my hair. "My name's Jade, if you didn't already know."
Jade? There's only one Jade I know and she's sort of a badass. At least, that's what I've heard. I shouldn't listen to what people say, anyways.
The door swings open and a random girl walks in. Jade looks to the door with her eyes glaring at the girl.
"Can't you see we're having a sweet moment?! GET OUT!" she screams.
The girls fumbles, trying to leave the the restroom as instructed. Jade continues stroking my hair and now I'm mad that I didn't meet her sooner.
"My name is Ariana," I mutter, resting my head on her shoulder. I wonder if she already knew that.

It feels strange not seeing Ariel all day but I can't stop being around Jade. She's laid back, and kind of aggressive but in a funny way. She invited me to eat at her table for lunch which I'm kind of looking forward to.
"I know your sister probably sits with those cheerleaders and their tight clothing that suffocates their tiny little brains," Jade teases. We walked across the cafeteria until we came close to a door that let's us outside. She pushes it open very dramatically, letting her head back for a split second. "But the outdoors is your new home."
All I see is a bunch of kids smoking on a table near a wall full of graffiti. I never seen this part of the school out of the three years I've been here. I'm surprised there isn't a teacher out here to clear the area.
"Sup guys," Jade says before taking her place in between two guys with a bunch of tattoes on their arms. I awkwardly watch as Jade swipes a cigarette from the guy to her right.
A guy with tiny light brown braids appears next to me and points to Jade. "You are a meanie."
Jade laughs and smoke comes out of her mouth and nose. "Why?"
"You told me your uncle was a record producer." Wow, his arms are toned.
"I told you my uncle works for a record company."
"Yeah, as a janitor." I cover my mouth so he wouldn't see or hear me laugh. I failed because he glares at me. I don't know why, though. I wasn't the one who told him that my uncle works at a record company.
"You sing?" I ask him so he could stop staring at me.
"Yeah. And I write my own music. I thought I was going to finally get my big break but I guess not, thanks to Jade."
"It's not my fault you didn't ask what my uncle did specifically in the record company."
The guy holds his hands out as if he were choking Jade's neck.
"I'm sure you'll make it someday," I reassure him. "Maybe you could let me hear a sample of your music sometime."
"Okay, sure. I'm Andre," he says holding out his hand for me to shake.
"Ariana," I say as I shake his hand.
"Ariana, what are you doing out here?"
Oh shit.
