The Beginning Book 1

Chapter 9: The Sewers

Once I had Merle on the ground my dad came over and handcuff him to the pole that was near him. He asked who my dad was not really looking at me. My dad told him that he was officer friendly which I didn't get. My dad found some drugs on Merle; which didn't surprise me. That's when my dad gave me the signal to get off of him.

My dad went of to the side and I stayed near Merle to make sure he didn't do anything stupid. I sat down and just looked around. I then saw a bird in the sky and decided to shoot it because why not. Luckily I hit it because if I didn't someone was going to be dead. Once I had the bird I took my arrow out of the bird and threw the bird to the walkers.

That's when Merle said, "Well if it isn't little Jess." "In the flesh." I said putting my bow away with my arrow now covered in bird blood.
"I haven't seen you since you were over at our house with Lauren." Said Merle. I nodded at him that's when he said, "I forgot how strong you were I can't belived you tackled me."
"Yeah, I have been working in that." He gave me a smirk which he always did to me and I walked over to my dad.

He was talking to one of the guys (Morales) that were there, and I then heard Merle talking to Andrea about how she was a fine woman. Also I'm pretty sure he called her sugar tits. That's when my dad said, "We have to get out of here."
"But how?" I asked.
"Threw the sewers." My dad said.

Glenn looked over the edge and saw all the entireness to the sewer in the street. That's when the Jackie said there was a thing that helped with flooding in the building.

We went down to where Jackie said the thing was and she was right. There was an entrance to the sewer it looked really gross down there. Then my dad said one of us should go down there to see if there is a way out. We all looked at Glenn. "Glenn if you go down there you will need someone to go with you." I said.

He started to tell the people why he didn't want them. That's when he said, "I am going to take Jess and Morales." I looked at my dad and he gave me the okay sign. Morales, Glenn, and I headed down to the entrance to the sewer. It was really gross down there and it smelled like shit.

We started walking down the path when we got to a closed off area. "How are we going to get passed this?" I asked.
"Well we are going to need a blow torch." Answered Morales. Then we heard the sound of something eating something.

Glenn shined his flashlight to where the noise was and there was a walker eating a rat. It noticed us and tried to get us. It made a loud weird screaming growling noise, and we ran out of there.

When we got to where everyone was. We got there just in time to see the walkers break through the first set of doors.
