Jack is awakened by Kayla knocking frantically on his window. Jack believes that kayla has gotten into a fight again with Brianna but he is wrong Kayla show him a letter the state she was accepted into marine biology summer camp where Kayla can do one of her most favorite things study the environment. jack gets dressed and helps Kayla pack for her summer getaway. Jack is upset that she is leaving but he knows its for the best because now Kayla does not have to worry about people picking on her.
Helen is also excited for Kayla and give her some tools to do experiments. Helen tells Kayla when she comes back she can assist her with Helen's ecology research Helen just received a grant for $1,000,000 to do research on the water soil and animals around the Gulf of Mexico the grant will pay Helen $40,000 a year the rest of the money will go towards equipment and running tests on the samples. Helen tells kayla that she can help her with her research when she returns she will get plenty of skills and training at the summer camp Kayla is overjoyed.
Due to the fact that due that Kayla and Helen will both be busy with their projects jack knows he must Work the bait and snack shack and also help out with the deliveries at the ice cream parlor and pastry shop as well as also with you some work as a charter boat captain whenever Sam finds him work , also jack knows he cannot forget about the Simmons and their deliveries of supplies. Jack will miss his friend and his mother what they are busy but now he will be busy too he will see his mother at night where they have dinner Stacy will be there if he needs her. Emily and Alexis also are going away to summer camp for 3 weeks they overturn like Kayla just before the 4th of July. alexis is going to culinary camp she will learn how to be a cook . she enjoys baking, also making healthy dishes for her family and friends. Emily on the other hand is going to photography camp or she will learn how to take many different types of photos with different types of equipment.
Although his friends are gone away for a few weeks and his mother will be very busy Jack understand that he must assist everybody like the way they help him. Jack decides he will do the best job he can and help out all his friends
